Furniture and Clothing Bank providing for families in need. Founded in 1988.

TMS also houses the only mattress recycling facility in the Central Florida area. With the addition of the recycling department, TMS uses and re-uses every single item donated to its fullest. TMS is able to recycle the unusable items through their individual parts: metals, cardboard, sheet plastics, fabric, foam, wood, and electronics. Since 2011, TMS recycling program has reconstructed enough mattresses to save 1.5 million cubic feet of landfill space, reducing dump expenses and protecting the environment.

📰🏀 A big win for Central Florida’s children and families!

We’re proud to be included in the Orlando Sentinel’s coverage of the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation’s inaugural Collective Impact Reveal Luncheon, where The Mustard Seed of Central Florida was recognized as one of 21 nonprofit organizations supporting youth across Central Florida.

Representing The Mustard Seed at the luncheon were Alycia Calderon-Walker, Development & Events Manager, and Richard E. Montes, MBA, SPHR, Chair of The Mustard Seed’s Board of Directors, who were honored to celebrate this investment alongside fellow nonprofit and community leaders.

The Mustard Seed was awarded a $25,000 grant from the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation to support our work helping children and families rebuild after crisis with safe beds, essential furniture, and the household items needed to create a stable home.

This investment will help us continue turning empty spaces into places of comfort, stability, and home for families transitioning into safe housing.

We are incredibly grateful to the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation for believing in our mission and investing in organizations working every day to strengthen our community.

A special thank you to the Orlando Sentinel for highlighting this incredible group of Central Florida nonprofits and the impact being made throughout our region. 💙
