As Covenant Partners Jim and Peen Hardy served with international missions and local afterschool programs, they grew in the conviction that they wanted to dedicate a portion of their estate to helping those who are under-resourced. Five years ago, they chose to become Legacy Society members with the Heart of the City Foundation, ensuring their wealth will meaningfully bless others for generations to come.

Every year, because of the generosity of Covenant Partners like you, we get to pour resources into some organizations doing phenomenal work in our city and world. From educating students to helping people rebuild their lives after trafficking, from nurturing business leaders to empowering people who are unhoused to get back on their feet, these missions spread the love and hope of Jesus Christ, and we're proud to partner with them in their work.

We are SO grateful for all of the Covenant Partners who make this kind of impact possible year after year. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Our end of fiscal year report for 2025-2026 is up on our blog now, celebrating all of the wonderful ways Covenant Partners of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando have blessed our community through the Heart of the City Foundation, spreading the love of Jesus Christ. It's the Heart of the City Foundation's 47th anniversary today and it's such a wonderful reminder of what a handful of people with a vision can do together. In 1979, a small committee of Covenant Partners of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando established the Foundation, hoping it would be a means for generations of Covenant Partners to sustain and extend the reach of First Pres, spreading the love of Jesus Christ in our church, city, and world.

Now Covenant Partners have invested more than $15 million into the Foundation to be faithfully stewarded by other Covenant Partners (our staff and board). Through this stewardship, more than $5 million has been poured into our church and Christ-centered missions and individuals. At this point in the Foundation's life, close to $500 thousand is meaningfully distributed each year.

Thank you for being a part of the Heart of the City Foundation! 💛 Here's to another 47 years, and to many, many more after that.

What impassions you? Some of us have hearts for people who are living in poverty. Some for the arts. Some for people rescued from trafficking. Some for Christian education. Some for the preservation of nature. Whatever area of need that God has placed on your heart, you should be able to give to what is meaningful to you, beyond the limits of your lifetime.
