Representation Matters:
Celebrating Katherine Magnoli! 🦸‍♀️

Happy ! We are shining a spotlight on local author and advocate Katherine Magnoli, who is changing the face of children’s literature.

When Katherine noticed a lack of disability awareness in books, she took matters into her own hands. She created the Kat Girl series, featuring a superhero who uses a wheelchair—showing our kids that mobility aids aren't limitations; they’re just part of a hero's journey!

Why We Love the Kat Girl Series:

Empowering Representation: Kids with disabilities deserve to see themselves as the heroes of their own stories.

Awareness & Inclusion: These books help all children understand and celebrate differences.

Local Talent: Katherine’s journey from being born with spina bifida to becoming a published author is an inspiration to our entire community.

Let’s fill our libraries with stories that reflect the beautiful diversity of our students. 📖✨

CTE - Career, Technical Education is the cornerstone for some of our SE kids. Don't let the funding get cut!

Florida’s students are under attack. Tell your Florida House member: Vote NO on HB 5101. Protect our students’ future.

HB 5101 guts funding for the very programs that help them succeed—slashing support for AP, IB, dual enrollment, Cambridge AICE, CAPE, and CTE by 50%. It also eliminates $350 million meant to stabilize school budgets. That means fewer opportunities, more out-of-pocket costs for families, and devastating impacts on classrooms across our state.

As you may know, the Florida Legislature is still in session—and decisions are being made right now that will directly affect our children’s future.

Our kids deserve better. These programs aren’t extras—they’re essentials. Every student deserves access to a strong future, no matter their zip code.

Florida PTA is fighting back, and we need you with us.

đź’¬ Then, join us on April 17, 2025, at 6:30 PM for an informative and interactive Legislative Town Hall, where you will receive key updates on the 2025 Legislative Session and learn how proposed policies may impact students, families, and public schools.
