Meet Postmark šŸ“¬šŸ¾

Postmark’s story began outside a post office in St. Cloud, where this beautiful young grey-and-white girl was found all alone. But her journey since then has been nothing short of hopeful.

Postmark has tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV), but with important good news—her follow-up testing shows a regressive form, not progressive. That means she is currently healthy, thriving, and living just like any other sweet, playful young cat.

And sweet she is. Postmark is affectionate, gentle, and loves being around people. She has a calm, loving personality and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, low-drama kitty.

Because of her FeLV status, Postmark should be adopted as:
• An only cat
• Or into a home with another FeLV-positive cat

She’s ready to trade in her ā€œreturn to senderā€ days for a forever address filled with love, comfort, and safety.

If you’re looking for a special cat with a resilient spirit and a heart full of love, Postmark is ready to deliver.

šŸ“© Apply to adopt Postmark today and give her the home she’s been waiting for.

Spideycat had a checkup today and he’s doing so well! He loves to eat and even though he gets plenty of snuggles, he’s quite upset that he isn’t yet allowed to run and play freely. We go back to UF on April 15th for his post op scan and hopefully he will be cleared to play then. We are still actively fundraising for him as his initial surgery drained our funds and his April appointment will be another expensive visit. If you are able to help, we appreciate even the smallest donation. If you are unable to help financially, sharing the post helps us too!

Spideycat Update. Day 2.

He did fantastic overnight and had no breathing issues. The concerning swelling went down and he was even able to eat for the night staff after charming them by making biscuits. We were able to pick him up today and he will finish his recovery at home. He is so happy to be back in his familiar surroundings.

The first thing he did after getting home was demand food to show off his new mouth! He is such a happy, lucky boy!

We are so thankful for all of our supporters and the amazing folks at University of Florida Small Animal Hospital!!!

Spideycat update.

The vet in charge of him called us around 6p. His surgery was about 2.5 hours and started around 330p. They were able to do the jaw resection and dentistry said no teeth needed removed at this time. There is a possibility that one or more canines might need removed later if the jaw settles to where they are puncturing the soft palate. As of now, the assumption is that as he grows, his jaw will stay aligned.

The still scary part:
He has significant swelling so will be frequently monitored throughout the night to check his airway. He had a tracheotomy for surgery that can be reaccessed if needed but they are hoping the steroid injection prevents the need for that. They will call in the morning with an update unless an emergency arises overnight. His vet is the one on call overnight.

We are anxiously awaiting for him to be recovered enough for release and holding our breath until morning.

šŸ†˜ This is Spideycat. He is a tiny but mighty super incredibly sweet kitten. He came into rescue at about 6 weeks of age in October. At intake, it was obvious that he was having trouble moving his mouth to eat. He was put on antibiotics to rule out tetanus and as he grew, it became clear that he had a severe misalignment of his jaw with the inability to open his mouth. He was kept fed via a kitten bottle of wet food blended with formula. The misalignment made feeding times extra messy but he thrived.

After consulting with our vet, he was referred to a local oral surgeon who then referred him to the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital. On 3/2 he had a CT scan and the wonderful specialists got to work on a solution for him. The CT scan showed that he had suffered a skull fracture very early in his life that also damaged one side of his jaw hinge, hence fusing it together and preventing him from opening his mouth. The fragments mean the joint itself can’t be rebuilt but they can remove a portion of his jaw on that side and the good side will take over to allow him normal range of motion.

His surgery is not cheap and will stress our finances so we are asking for help to raise the funds he needs. He is so worth it and we are excited to see him improve. Any donation amount helps immensely and if you aren’t able to donate, sharing is a huge help too!

We so appreciate our wonderful supporters and Spideycat is very thankful for all the love, care and support!

(Peek in the comments for a cute video of one of our previous adult fosters giving him a clean after a feed. You can see his little manx tail wag too!)

Happy Valentine’s Day from our sponsored TNVR kitties! Thanks to 3 generous donors, these boys had their veterinary care costs covered.

Yesterday we sent 41 cats to Pet Alliance for spay/neuter. Kitten season is coming, but these 22 girls and 19 boys will NOT be participating!

Our volunteers also had a great time observing up close how clinic staff safely handle feral cats and work efficiently as a team to provide these high volume, high quality surgeries. Thank you Pet Alliance and CARE Feline TNR, Inc. for your commitment to community cats and for making this possible!
