🌿💚 Girl Scouts Love State Parks! 💚🌿

What an incredible Saturday at Lake Louisa State Park! Our Girl Scouts from South Lake Community came together with families to make a difference, helping remove a non-native w**d and learning what it takes to care for Florida’s beautiful parks. 🌱🌳

With 65 Girl Scouts and parents participating, Troops 9131, 4592, 2179, 1936, 1277, 3049, and 3045 all pitched in! The girls also got a behind-the-scenes look at the important work park rangers do year-round, including prescribed burns that help protect forests and reduce the risk of large wildfires. 🔥🌲

It was a day filled with teamwork, learning, laughter, and a whole lot of Girl Scout spirit!

🎤📺 Girl Scouts can take you places you never expected!

Girl Scout Grace recently joined Girl Scouts of Citrus CEO Jennifer Wilcox on FOX 35’s The 407, an exciting opportunity she received through our Media Girls program! 🌟

Through Media Girls, Girl Scouts have opportunities to represent our council, participate in interviews and media appearances, and build confidence speaking in front of others and on camera.

Girl Scouts of Citrus gives girls opportunities to discover what they love, build confidence, and try things they may never have imagined. 💚

🐾💚 Pawsitive change in action!

Congratulations to Ellie, Aaliyah, Abigail, and Lilly of Troop 276 on completing their Girl Scout Bronze Award! 🌟

After choosing to help animals waiting for adoption, the girls learned to sew and repurposed old T-shirts to create 25 cat kicker toys and 15 dog rope toys for the SPCA of Brevard. They even created a step-by-step video so other Girl Scouts can make the toys too! 🐱🐶

The girls recently delivered their creations to the shelter, where they’ll provide enrichment, playtime, and fun for animals waiting for their forever homes. Some will even go home with adopters as a special handmade gift! ❤️

Way to go, Troop 276! We love seeing our Girl Scouts learn new skills, get creative, and make a difference. 💚
