Hurricane Milton
Dear Residents,
As we closely monitor the approaching hurricane that will affect our area, we want to ensure that everyone is prepared and informed. This storm has the potential to bring high winds, significant rainfall, and flooding to our area. The safety of our community is a top priority, and we urge all residents take the necessary precautions to protect your home and family.
During these times, it’s important to remember that we are all one community. Please be kind to your neighbors and lend a hand if they need assistance preparing for or recovering from the storm. A little help can go a long way, especially for those who may have difficulty securing their homes or clearing debris.
On Tuesday, October 8, residents can bring excess yard waste due to Hurricane Helene to the Orange County Landfill during regular operating hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), and residential yard waste fees will be waived. Visit www.ocfl.net/WasteSites for more information. For additional information and updates regarding the Orange County Residential Curbside Collection Program, please visit Green Clean (orangecountyfl.net).

Hurricane Preparation Tips:
Prepare Your Home
Secure Outdoor Items: Bring in or tie down any loose items outside your home, such as Halloween decorations, patio furniture, planters, and grills, to prevent them from becoming projectiles during the storm. Store garbage bins inside.
Check Your Emergency Supplies: Make sure you have adequate water, non-perishable food, batteries, flashlights, any necessary medications, and important documents.
Charge Electronics: Make sure your cell phones and other essential devices are fully charged.
Vehicles: Ensure your vehicles are fueled.
After the Storm
Inspect Your Property: Once the storm has passed and it is safe, carefully inspect your home and property for any damage.
Clean Up Debris: If you see any trash or debris around your lot, please help by picking it up. We all need to work together to keep our community clean after the storm.
Stay Informed: Monitor weather updates and follow any evacuation orders or advisories issued by local authorities.
Safety First: Be cautious of downed power lines, flooding, or other hazards. Report any dangerous conditions or any emergencies to the proper authorities immediately.
Stay safe, take care of one another, and thank you for your cooperation as we prepare for Hurricane Milton.
Sincerely,
Waterford Trails HOA
