Today, we proudly celebrate 97 years of sisterhood, service, leadership, and business excellence. Since our founding on June 1, 1929, Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. has empowered women, supported communities, and promoted professional development while upholding a legacy of scholarship and service.

As we honor our visionary founder Lola Mercedes Parker and the trailblazing women who have carried our mission forward, we recommit ourselves to making a positive impact in our communities and supporting the next generation of leaders.

To my Sorors of the Epsilon Rho Chapter and Iota Sorors everywhere, thank you for your dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.

Business Month Spotlight | April 2026

During the month of April, Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. proudly celebrates Business Month, a time dedicated to promoting business education, entrepreneurship, and recognizing those making a powerful impact in the business world.

Today, we are honored to highlight a phenomenal Black-owned business right here in Orlando:

🍽️ Eat My Gritz, LLC
📍 629 N. Westmoreland Dr, Orlando, FL

This isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a testimony.

When asked how he came up with the idea for Eat My Gritz, the owner shared one powerful word: “Prison.”
While incarcerated, he began cooking and selling meals from his cell—and there was always a line. But his story didn’t stop there. After a life-changing encounter with the Lord, he gave his life to Christ and received a new purpose.

He shared:
“I was already feeding people in prison… God said now you’re going to feed people when you get out.”

And that’s exactly what he’s doing today. 🙌🏾

What started as a vision has grown into a thriving business and most recently, he was awarded a 20-year contract with LYNX to serve his menu at the downtown bus terminal! 👏🏾👏🏾

From humble beginnings to a powerful purpose-driven business, Eat My Gritz is a true example of resilience, faith, and entrepreneurship.

On April 2nd at Windermere High School, the “Exceptional” Epsilon Rho Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. facilitated the impactful Toys U Can’t Return (TUCR) presentation with approximately 55 students 💚🤍

This powerful session encouraged students to reflect on how the choices they make today can shape their future life plans. Through guided discussion, students explored the meaning behind “things you can’t return,” gaining a deeper understanding of personal responsibility and long-term consequences.

Sorors led meaningful conversations around:
✨ Permanent vs. temporary decisions
✨ Self-awareness, self-worth & self-love
✨ Peer pressure and emotional decision-making
✨ Making positive, informed choices

The interactive session created a safe space for honest dialogue and self-reflection, empowering students to think critically about their actions and future goals 💭
