This is National Salute Week for our service personnel. Friends of the Orlando VA had the honor of hosting a lunch for the veterans at the Dom at the Lake Baldwin VA. This would not have been possible without the generosity of our donors. We are grateful to the following who helped make this event a success. Daniel Munoz, Colonial Avenue manager , Christine Shepherd, manager and Roberta and Bob Shepherd . A special thanks to Bob and Maria Viscardi
for masking up to help with the delivery. It really does take a whole village!

It doesn’t matter what you think of Jon Stewart. This isn’t about him, it’s about our veterans. we owe them every day, in every way.

So here’s what we have to do. Please take a couple minutes to do one or more of the following actions:

1) If you are on Twitter please click here to tweet a message of support. It will automatically tag the Senate GOP.

2) Call your own senators. Tell them to pass the PACT Act immediately. The number to the switchboard is 202.224.3121 so just ask to be connected to either of your senators. And then call back again to make sure you reach both your senators' offices!

3) If you are in the DC area or know anyone who is, please show your support for veterans who are doing a "fire watch" sit-in outside the Capitol until the vote is through the Senate sometime Monday. You can stay up to date by following Burn Pits 360.

This is what it’s come to, folks. Veterans and their families. The sick, the dying. Fed up. Pulling all nighters to support their fellow veterans. This is the hell their service has brought them.

ARMED SERVICES DAY

Saluting all who served and are serving. A gentle reminder of all that the military does for us. The baby formula that is being sent to us from Germany is coming into the country via our military personnel. 🇺🇸 Thank you.

So proud of Friends of the Orlando VA. Today we delivered 47 gifts for the Veterans Giving Tree to Lake Baldwin. This could not have been accomplished without Eddie Carter, our donors and especially the efforts of Paul Figoni of Let’s Roll Promotions. “Friends” achieved a milestone this year when we were able to underwrite all our donations through fundraising and not through the donations of family and friends (which we greatly appreciate.) We are blessed and grateful and looking forward to the next event that we can support for our veterans.

Friends of Florida VA is grateful to Paul at Let’s Roll Promotions along with Eddie Carter for sponsoring the Veterans Classic Car Show. This was our most successful fundraiser to date and will allow us to provide for more of our veterans needs. Additional support was provided by Southern Wine and Spirits, Neuburger Berman Investments, and Cohen & Steers Investments Thanks to all who attended the event for their generous donations and support.

GIVING ❤️TUESDAY

Friends of the Orlando VA (friendsoftheorlandova.org) is participating in today, the global day of unity and giving. As you know, our organization supports initiatives that assist our Veterans.
But we can’t do this without you!

Our non profit has supported the Veterans Giving Tree, VA Food Pantry, created COVID19 discharge bags, stocked the Hospital Respite Room during the pandemic, donated robotic dogs/cats for mental health patients, and filled requests for clothing items such as work boots, pants, and shirts among other needed apparel.

Not only do we need your support, we need your help to spread the word. Please tell your friends and family why you believe in our work and encourage them to support us.
