As we transitioned out of the pandemic, and the community began to feel more comfortable meeting in person, CASA CULTURE, a Collaborative Arts Equity and Entrepreneurship Development program launched by SOS by Urbander in 2021, became a creative hub for underserved and historically excluded artists to further explore their craft, collaborate with each other and exercise entrepreneurship.
At CASA CULTURE’s 2,600 square foot space located inside the Fashion Square Mall in Orlando (3201 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32803) a variety of nonprofit organizations, community groups and start-ups led by people of color have been conducting events, workshops, art exhibits, multimedia content
production, meetings, educational presentations, and rehearsals.
Together, they collectively deliver unique and original programming that has impacted over 2,000 people in the physical space and over 500,000 people in the community thanks to our collaborator MAS 100.7FM the nonprofit radio
station located inside the Casa Culture space. Under the leadership of its Founder and General Manager, Efrain Gonzalez, MAS 100.7FM produces 10 ongoing local radio programs for nonprofit organizations focused on informing the community about resources for arts, culture, and social issues.
On April 28, 2023 we celebrated our first year open to the public and we want to publicly thank our current funders and grantors for their support: Charles Schwab's Schwab Organization of Latinxs (SOL), Hispanic Federation Florida & Southeast, Orlando Health, Florida Blue, the Austin Russell Foundation Fund at the Central Florida Foundation and individual donations.
