Orlando Main Streets is excited to welcome Jennifer Desir Hilaire as the next executive director for West Lakes District, which intersects at West Colonial Drive and Orange Blossom Trail with Lake Lorne Doone Park and Camping World Stadium at the district core. 🧡

West Lakes District has an incredibly diverse make up of businesses, from automotive and manufacturing to retail and dining, requiring a leader who has a broad understanding of the needs of the community and how to drive success. Jennifer joins the district bringing with her a wealth of knowledge in non-profit and board management, event production, fundraising and community storytelling.

Jennifer was born in Haiti and inspired to lead a life of service by her grandmother, Desir, who fed her community through her personal farm in Lascahobas, Haiti. Desir’s influence compelled Jennifer to launch her own non-profit – The Desire Foundation, in 2021, which focuses on addressing food insecurity here in Orlando and has since impacted 7,500+ lives. She also founded Fusion & Co, an event production company and artist development agency, which produces local events and assists artists with their branding, marketing, booking opportunities and acquiring press.

Jennifer’s philanthropic spirit has made a lasting impact on the Orlando community through her non-profit and business, and we cannot wait to see how her experience breathes new life and enthusiasm into West Lakes District and west Orlando. In the coming weeks, the West Lakes District is poised to thrive with a significant surge in visitors, presenting a tremendous opportunity for our local business owners and entrepreneurs to shine. Major events like EDC Orlando, Vans Warped Tour, and the Florida Classic are expected to draw in crowds of 100,000+ daily, 80,000+ daily, and 60,000+ on gameday respectively, setting the stage for a substantial boost in local commerce. 🚨New Orange County Commission Map🚨

In November 2024, Orange County voters approved expanding commission districts from six to eight. To implement this, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) began a redistricting process and formed the 2025 Mid-Decennial Redistricting Advisory Committee in January 2025. After months of meeting, here is the newly approved Orange County map!
