We want to send a huge thank you to the Central Florida community for welcoming K9 Valor with open arms.

This month, we donated him to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office as part of our Bringing the Lost Home project, which has provided 11 bloodhounds to local law enforcement agencies to assist in missing person searches.

Together, Valor and his handler, Deputy Luis Paredes-Labrador, will be protecting vulnerable individuals across Osceola County.

Partnerships make our community stronger.

We’re proud to have once again collaborated with YMCA of Central Florida for the third annual Healthy Seniors Day, during which attendees participated in free wellness classes, learned about our local programs and received storm supplies.

Every year, Senior Resource Alliance connects tens of thousands of Central Floridians to services that help them continue living independently in their own home, and at the helm of that 41-year mission is Karla Radka.

Happy Healthy Seniors Day!

Today, the Senior Resource Alliance team spread out across Central Florida to participate in YMCA of Central Florida's annual event.

Y Family Centers opened their doors to everyone in the community for free wellness activities, including group exercises and pickleball as well as our tai chi and fall prevention classes. We were on site to distribute storm supplies and scent kits while also informing attendees about the important programs we offer, such as Medicare counseling through the SHINE program.

We have a furry announcement to make!

Senior Resource Alliance is proud to introduce you to K9 Valor, the bloodhound we donated to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

Valor completed extensive training with our partners at Scent Evidence K9 to be able to find missing persons, particularly those with dementia and developmental disabilities.

We’re excited to work with Sheriff Christopher Blackmon and his deputies to keep our community safe through our Bringing the Lost Home project, which has provided local law enforcement with 11 K9s since the program launched in 2021.

Vivir de forma independiente y mantener el bienestar físico van de la mano.

Por eso, nos enorgullece colaborar nuevamente con YMCA of Central Florida en el evento Healthy Seniors Day, que se llevará a cabo el 7 de octubre.

⏰ De 10:00 a. m. a 1:00 p. m., personas podrán visitar cualquiera de las 15 sedes de la YMCA para participar en actividades gratuitas, como clases de tai chi y sesiones de prevención de caídas, además de conocer nuestros programas y recursos comunitarios.

También estaremos distribuyendo suministros para tormentas a las personas afectadas por el huracán Ian en los condados de Orange, Osceola, Seminole y Brevard, así como kits de conservación de aroma, una herramienta útil para ayudar en la localización de personas desaparecidas.

Change doesn’t happen in a vacuum.

This September, Senior Resource Alliance’s President & CEO Karla Radka attended the 2026 conference for the Southeastern Association of Area Agencies on Aging to share how our community services help Central Floridians maintain their independence.

Karla provided insight into an AdventHealth partnership that assists seniors when they leave the hospital and our miniature horse therapy program with Honey's Mini Therapy Adventures.

By bringing this knowledge directly to those in the aging industry, we can work together to support our seniors.

Independent aging and physical wellness go hand in hand.

That idea is at the core of our partnership with YMCA of Central Florida, who we’re once again collaborating with for Healthy Seniors Day on Oct. 7.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., older adults and their caregivers can visit any of the Y’s 15 locations to participate in free activities (such as tai chi and fall prevention sessions) and learn about our expansive community programs.

At centers in Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Brevard counties, we’ll give away storm supplies to Hurricane Ian victims as well as kits that can store a loved one’s unique scent to help with missing person searches.

For the third year in a row, Senior Resource Alliance is honored to receive the “Corporate Partnership Award” from the Southeastern Association of Area Agencies on Aging!

Alongside Claris Healthcare, we’re championing senior wellness with Claris Companion, an easy-to-use tablet that has connected hundreds of users to innovative programming, including nutrition support, mental health resources and cognitively stimulating games.
