🐾❤️‍🩹 We are over the moon to report that Bruno is out of the woods & on the mend! He is doing a lot better & through the worst of it thanks to his incredible nurse Dora for many sleepless nights, many trips to the vet he pulled through! He is off the IV, able to take oral medication, eating & going potty. We are making plans to move him to his foster home for continued recovery in about a week then he will be available for adoption. We want to thank everyone who donated, prayed & participated in our recent fundraiser! ❤️‍🩹🐾

🐾💙 Please help us welcome Doug to rescue! Our team has been working around the clock to close out our recent fundraiser getting over 100 packages shipped out to winners, thank you to everyone who participated! In the midst of it all we were contacted about a boy who was in need of rescue so we jumped in & saved another! Say hello to Doug! He is 2 years old, 60 lbs, neutered, dog friendly & a total sweetheart! He comes to us from a family who got him then realized they were not prepared for the energy & needs of a young bull terrier. We got him to the vet today where he is being treated for bilateral ear infections as well as skin infection. Stay tuned for more on Doug as we get to know him more in his foster home!💙🐾

🐾💙🎉 We are over the moon to announce a very special Happy Tails! Duncan has been OFFICIALLY ADOPTED & we couldn’t be happier for this adoption! After being neutered Duncan developed some stranger danger where he was defensive when meeting new people especially if they tried to pet him or get in his space. We sent Duncan for professional training where he slowly worked through his fears & got used to meeting new people but his boundaries of getting used to new people slowly remained. Even after training we knew Duncan would need a special adopter… someone who would be patient & understand Duncan’s needs & go at his pace. Someone who wouldn’t get too excited & just try to pet him anyways. Someone who was willing to trust the process & know that putting the work in on the beginning of their relationship would make for a long lasting bond. That someone came & specifically applied for Duncan. He went above & beyond to do several meet & greets with Duncan as well as training to slowly warm up to Duncan. The first time he met Duncan he couldn’t even pet him. He just showed up & walked with Duncan & his foster Dad. They did a few of these walks then he drove to Orlando to train with Duncan & his trainers. Duncan’s new Dad respected all of Duncan’s boundaries, he was extremely patient with the process & did not rush a single step. He was committed to Duncan from day 1 & his hard work paid off because he is now Duncan’s person! Duncan is glued to his Dad’s side, he loves to cuddle & they have bonded very closely. We are incredibly grateful to Kevin, Duncan’s foster Dad, who went the extra mile to help Duncan get used to his new Dad, to the team at Diversity K9, (especially Kate) & to Duncan’s new Dad who is the person who walked into Duncan’s life & never walked out. Every dog is different so therefore every adoption is different. We take in dogs sometimes without knowing their past but do what it take to work through their needs. Stories like Duncan’s are long but rewarding & are what keeps us rescuing. Enjoy your happily ever after sweet boy! You have earned this life!🎉💙🐾

🐾🙏🏻❤️‍🩹 BRUNO UPDATE: We need prayers more than ever for Bruno. He made it through the surgery but is not doing well this morning. His obstruction surgery was very complicated & his intestines were like an accordion it was clear to his surgeon that the ball that was removed from his stomach has been in there a while & should have been removed sooner. He has been receiving care throughout the night & our team has been working to manage his pain. Unfortunately, as of this morning his gut is paralyzed & he has been given medication in hopes to get it moving again. Obstructions require immediate surgery & we truly hope we got to him soon enough to save him. Thank you to everyone who has donated towards Bruno’s care as well as placed bids in our current fundraiser that ends Sunday. Please continue to pray for Bruno to pull through this as he could not be a sweeter dog with such an incredible temperament. ❤️‍🩹🙏🏻🐾

🚑🚨 EMERGENCY OBSTRUCTION SURGERY!! We just received an email from the owner of Bruno, a very sweet dog we recently adopted out stating they were out of the country, left him with a friend, he has been vomiting, not responding to meds and they are unable to care for him anymore so they wanted to surrender him to us TODAY in dire condition. Bruno has a past history of having an obstruction surgery before he came to us so we made sure his new owners knew not to leave him with any bedding or blankets that he could chew up. Given his past knew there was a good chance he was obstructed again needing emergency surgery so we immediately sprang into action and through a plan together. We had Bruno rushed to a trusted veterinarian where he was x-rayed and confirmed he is indeed obstructed again. He arrived in very bad shape lethargic & regurgitating bile. This surgery will be complicated since he has already had one. BRUNO IS CURRENTLY IN SURGERY! Thank you to Dora, Dr. Kennedy & the entire staff at Lake Panasoffkee Animal Clinic for staying late and bringing in extra staff to try to save Bruno’s life. We ask for prayers for sweet Bruno who is a gentle giant who loves babies & dogs of all sizes. This unfortunately could have been avoided & we hope he can pull through this. 🚨🚑
