We are proud of our NASW-Florida Chapter for standing up for social workers and our clients. NASW-Florida recently joined 77 agencies urging Florida’s Senators to protect Medicaid, SNAP, and student loan forgiveness.
Unfortunately, both Senators voted for a budget that cuts these vital programs while giving tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy. These cuts will deeply impact the communities we serve.
The bill now goes back to the House, and we have only days to act.

Thank you for your commitment to advocacy and the wellbeing of those we serve.
NASW-Florida Chapter joined 77 other Florida agencies and advocacy groups in sending a letter urging Florida's U.S. Senate delegation to reject cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and student loans (https://tinyurl.com/58tc8tm7).
Yet both Florida Senators joined Senate Republicans in narrowly passing their budget reconciliation package on July 1, worsening the House bill by slashing basic needs programs and targeting marginalized communities. While the ultra-wealthy gain tax breaks, most Americans face cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, student loan repayment, and more.
The bill now returns to the House, and we have only days to urge them to reject it. Take action today: https://www.socialworkers.org/Advocacy/Legislative-Alerts?vvsrc=%2fcampaigns%2f128669%2frespond
