Wreaths Across America

Cadets from American Pride Squadron and Lone Sailor Division proudly participated in Wreaths Across America, placing more than 800 wreaths at Rose Hill Cemetery to honor our fallen veterans.

It is said that a person dies twice — once when they take their final breath, and again when their name is spoken for the last time. As each wreath was placed, our cadets read the name aloud to ensure that the legacy of every hero lives on.

With reverence, discipline, and a sense of duty, these young leaders paid tribute to those who served and sacrificed for our nation. Their actions reflect the core values of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps — Honor, Respect, Commitment, and Service.

“To be remembered is to live forever.”

On 18 October 2025, shipmates, family, and guests gathered at Lake Nona High School to celebrate a moment of extraordinary achievement—the official pinning of Chief Petty Officer Grace.

Advancing to the rank of Chief Petty Officer is the highest honor a cadet can earn in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. It is a rank reserved for those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, proven professionalism, and unwavering dedication to the Sea Cadet Core Values: Honor, Respect, Commitment, and Service.

CPO Grace now stands among the senior-most cadet leaders in the program—entrusted to mentor others, uphold standards, and lead with integrity. This milestone is not only a reflection of personal growth but a testament to the power of perseverance, teamwork, and purpose.

To Chief Grace: your journey inspires us all. You have earned this title through steadfast service and genuine leadership.

Bravo Zulu, Chief Petty Officer Grace!

Honoring Our Veterans & Active-Duty Service Members 🇺🇸

Hooyah, American Pride!

Today, our cadets from American Pride Squadron, U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, proudly marched in the Orlando Veterans Day Parade — held for the first time in Lake Nona. It was a long, hot route, but our cadets represented with professionalism, pride, and respect — and the community noticed. We received countless comments about how sharp they looked and how strongly they sounded off. Bravo Zulu!

This year is especially meaningful as we honor the 250th Birthday of the United States Navy and Marine Corps. Our young cadets proudly carry forward the legacy of those who have served the sea services over two and a half centuries. And next year, we look forward to honoring America’s 250th Birthday as our nation celebrates its Semiquincentennial!

What our cadets may not realize is just how meaningful their presence is. When veterans and active-duty service members see these young men and women marching, standing tall, and honoring our nation, it gives them hope for the future. That’s why so many came forward to shake hands or offer a salute — your service today matters.

Despite logistical challenges, our cadets pushed through, stayed hydrated, and carried themselves with honor. We gladly march to honor those who have served and those who continue to serve our country. 🇺🇸

A huge thank-you to the volunteers who supported us with snacks, water, and encouragement along the route — we couldn’t have done it without you.

We are incredibly proud of every cadet who stood the watch today.
You made a difference.

Hooyah!

Honoring Our Fallen Heroes — American Pride Squadron at Restlawn Memorial

Today, cadets from American Pride Squadron took part in a solemn and meaningful mission—volunteering at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery to clean and care for the graves of our nation’s veterans. With Memorial Day approaching, our cadets braved the heat to ensure these sacred sites reflect the honor and gratitude owed to our fallen.

During our visit, we were privileged to receive a tour from Mr. Lemon, who guided us to the resting place of Sergeant First Class Alwyn C. Cashe—a true American hero. SFC Cashe posthumously received the Medal of Honor for his extraordinary bravery and self-sacrifice in Iraq, where he gave his life rescuing fellow soldiers from a burning vehicle under enemy fire.

This experience reminded us all that leadership is built not just through words, but through action, courage, and sacrifice. Our cadets stood a little taller today, inspired by the legacy of SFC Cashe and the many heroes we honor this week.

Bravo Zulu to all who participated.

Yesterday, Sea Cadets from American Pride Squadron, Chris Kyle Battalion, Centurion Battalion Public Sea Cadets, USNSCC LONE SAILOR DIVISION (public page), and Freedom Battalion proudly came together to support the Wounded Warrior 5K/10K, hosted by the Central Florida Navy League at the historic Lone Sailor Memorial in Baldwin Park—once home to the U.S. Navy’s Recruit Training Center Orlando.

While a few cadets laced up and ran the race, the majority of our cadets exemplified true leadership by supporting the event operations. They cheered on runners with motivation and encouragement, guided participants along the course, and took the lead in setting up, breaking down, and cleaning the event site.

Their teamwork, professionalism, and commitment ensured the event ran smoothly and honored our wounded veterans with the respect and dignity they deserve. Bravo Zulu to every cadet, officer, and volunteer who stood the watch yesterday—you made a difference. U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps Lake Nona High School

📢 American Pride Squadron – Annual Inspection Report (08MAR25) 📢

This weekend, American Pride Squadron successfully completed its Annual Inspection, conducted by the Region 68 Regional Director. This comprehensive evaluation assessed attendance, uniforms, financials, service record-keeping, cadet and officer training, promotions, and community volunteer efforts. These inspections ensure that our unit is meeting USNSCC standards, contributing to our community, and maintaining a strong, healthy program.

It was a challenging day, but our cadets stood strong and represented the unit with pride and discipline. Special recognition goes to our new recruits who reported aboard today! They quickly adapted to the basics of military drill, learning attention, parade rest, and open/close ranks on their very first day. Welcome aboard, shipmates!

At the end of the day, we had the honor of officially discharging former League Cadets Curatu, Kennedy, and Thomas from the NLCC and welcoming them into the NSCC. Their dedication and hard work have prepared them for this next step in their Sea Cadet careers. Fair winds and following seas as you begin this new journey!

Following the inspection, cadets continued to hone their skills with drill, marching movements, and color guard training, reinforcing teamwork and precision.

Bravo Zulu to all cadets and officers for their hard work! These inspections are about more than just evaluations—they reflect our dedication, discipline, and commitment to leadership. Together, we strive for excellence and continue to grow as leaders of character. U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps Thank you to our sponsors Central Florida Navy League And VFW POST 4287.

American Pride Wins the Regional Flagship for 2025! ⚓🎉

14FEB25, our cadets showed resilience, teamwork, and dedication at the competition! Some battled illness and injury, but they pushed through with the support of their teammates and volunteers.

We faced challenges, including a tie for colorguard with Lone Sailor Division. A tie-breaker wasn’t possible as two members had to leave early, and while two junior cadets bravely volunteered, we made the tough call to forfeit to set them up for future success.

Despite this, American Pride brought home major victories!

This afternoon , USNSCC American Pride Squadron and Lake Nona High School had the honor of participating in a profound event alongside the City of Orlando and Gold Star Mothers and Families. During this ceremony, Mayor Demings officially proclaimed the last Sunday of September as Gold Star Mother’s Day—a day dedicated to honoring the mothers, fathers, and families of fallen military service members.

It was a solemn moment, yet vital, as we came together to remember the sacrifices of our fallen heroes and recognize the enduring strength of those they left behind. We stand in gratitude and reverence for the bravery of these families, whose loss reminds us all of the true cost of freedom.
