🌟 RAY Spotlight: Jayla! 🌟

Jayla kicked things off by confidently sharing her introduction, favorite quote, and a few fun facts about herself. She even stepped up and shared her own poetry with the girls!

Jayla definitely understands the power of self-expression, and we love seeing her voice and confidence shine!

Keep shining, Jayla! ✨

Today’s RAYS session was a great start to our 2026–2027 year!

We walked through our AROLAP Success Journals, reconnected during Girl, Talk to Me!, and focused on our Word of the Month: Self-Expression.

A special thank you to Author, Poet, and Creative Educator T.W. Alexander for leading a powerful poetry workshop and encouraging our girls to use their voices confidently and creatively.

Today was all about connection, expression, reflection, and reminding our girls that their voices matter.

Every Girl Needs A Lighthouse.

We’re also excited to welcome Author, Poet & Creative Educator T.W. Alexander for a special poetry workshop!

RAYS First Session is almost here!

We’re looking forward to seeing our participants this 2nd Saturday for a day of connection, creativity, and growth.

We are also still accepting participants for the 2026–2027 program year. If you know a young lady who could benefit from mentorship, sisterhood, and a positive space to grow, send her our way!

Yesterday, one of our Lighthouse participants, Jordan, hung out with Ms. Shannon for a little side-gig hustle. 👏🏾

It was an opportunity to learn entrepreneurship skills, get some real-world experience, and have those everyday conversations about life along the way.

And there’s more to come on how we’ll be introducing our AROLAP participants to entrepreneurship and creating opportunities of their own in partnership with Beautiful Exposure.

When we say AROLAP mentors differently, this is what we mean. Mentorship doesn’t always happen sitting around a table. Sometimes, it happens while working, riding, laughing, learning, and simply doing life together. 💛

We attended the Rooted & Rising: Women in Nonprofit Leadership Luncheon as a nominee.

While we didn’t receive an award, the nomination was enough. Being in a room filled with women leading, serving, and creating impact was both empowering and encouraging.

Grateful for the recognition and inspired to keep doing the work. 💛

Thank you, BIG SIS, Inc., for creating a space for us to come together, connect, and be surrounded by fellow servant leaders.
