September is FULL of COMMUNITY 💚

If you want to be a part of what we’re building, click the link in our bio to become a vendor, or save the dates on your calendar and simply come SHOW UP. (Free entry & Free parking)

We are building something together that we truly believe is going to be unlike anything else.

True community. Classes. Support. Resources. Good food. Good energy. Activities for the whole family. YMCA experiences. Farm-fresh goods. Local businesses. New friendships. New skills. Spaces where you can simply come as you are.

Come alone. Bring a friend. Bring your family. Bring the kids. Bring your pets. There is something here for everyone.

And the best part? We’re building it TOGETHER.

Sometimes community can be inconvenient. It requires us to make the time, leave the house, meet someone new, support a small business, help a neighbor, or simply show up. But when we all make the time, we make a difference.

Thank you for continuing to support The Local Habit and everything we are building throughout our community. 💚

We can’t wait to see you in September. Let’s make community a habit.

The Local Habit
Where Community Becomes a Habit. 💚

Now THIS is what true collaboration looks like. 💚

Two women running two completely different markets, sharing the same space and choosing to support each other instead of compete.

The College Park Farmers Market happens every Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM at Great Southern Box Co., and once a month, La Bodega Market comes in from 2 PM to 6 PM.

That means for one hour, once a month, both markets will be happening at the same time. And instead of making it something people have to choose between, these two women are encouraging the community to support BOTH.

Because why not?

Every vendor under those tents is a real person with a story. Someone building a dream, supporting a family, taking a chance on themselves or simply trying to create a better life.

Imagine what could happen if more businesses looked at each other and said, “How can we help each other?” instead of “How do I compete with you?”

Come early. Stay late. Support both markets. Support the vendors. Support the people behind the businesses.

There’s room for everybody. And community works so much better when we actually act like a community. 💚

Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me why I love what I get to do. 💚

I started my day representing The Local Habit as a Lake Nona Regional Chamber Chamber Ambassador and getting a private behind-the-scenes tour of the Orlando Magic arena. 🏀 Thank you to the Lake Nona Chamber for giving us the opportunity to experience and learn more about such an important part of our Orlando community.
(we did a great post game interview Norielys Emily Valdez 🇩🇴 😂)

Then I ended my day doing what I love most, bringing people together.

When Jhoselin Padilla Castro and I first talked about community, we realized we both had ideas around creating spaces where women could feel safe, seen and supported. Instead of doing it separately, we decided to come together. And we continue to come together to create those spaces. 🥹💚

Yesterday, through Her Space, our women’s community within The Local Habit, we had the opportunity to pour into educators and nurses with a wellness experience created just for them.

A HUGE thank you to Jhoselin Padilla Castro for continuing to collaborate with us, our vendors Bites by Bri | Orlando Caterer , The Bev Studio | A Treat & Beverage Bar and im-PRESSed , our two amazing instructors Body Ritual✨ by Camila Covarrubias & Mo , our gift bags and decor by Loved Event Decor 💌 and 🌱✨Welcome to AMG Studios✨ for helping to capture the event. You all helped us create such a special experience.

This is what community looks like to me. Relationships, collaboration, showing up for people and understanding that we can do so much more when we do it together.

And I’m grateful I get to keep building it. 💚

💚🌱 It’s National Nonprofit Day.

The Local Habit has only been doing this work since February 28, but the heart behind it was there long before our nonprofit status made it official.

We’ve helped feed people and fill food pantries. We’ve supported vendors and small businesses when they’ve fallen on hard times. We’ve created opportunities for youth, connected people to resources and simply showed up when someone needed community.

A lot of it has never been posted.

I, Asheley, have struggled with sharing that side because I never wanted helping people to come off as “content”. But I’m learning that sometimes we have to show the work so people understand the work.

Because The Local Habit is NOT just a gathering or an event.

We are people who need people. We need community.

Our mission is to create spaces where families, youth, small businesses and our community can connect, grow and thrive. Our vision is a community where people feel supported, connected and have the opportunity for a better quality of life.

Sometimes that means feeding someone. Supporting a vendor through a hard time. Giving a child an opportunity. Connecting someone to a resource.

And sometimes it’s simply showing up.

If you believe in what we’re building, donate, volunteer, partner, attend, support our vendors or simply share our work. 💚

Our goal has always been to make community more than a fancy word, but a true way of living. 🌱

Where community becomes a habit!

Our Founder & President, Asheley Glover, sits down with Michele Marone, Director of Operations at the Leonard & Marjorie Williams Family YMCA, for a conversation about community, impact, and creating spaces where people truly feel like they belong. 💚

We talk about the work of The Local Habit Community Initiative, the impact we’re making throughout our community, and Her Space, our growing community created for women to connect, build relationships, find support, and grow together personally and professionally.

For us, this partnership with the YMCA is about more than hosting events. It’s about what becomes possible when organizations come together, share resources, open doors, and intentionally create opportunities for the people around them.

We’re excited about what we’re building and even more excited about the people who will be part of it.

This is community in action. And we’re just getting started. 💚
