Glenn County Farm Bureau

Glenn County Farm Bureau Farm Bureau is organized on a county, state and national basis-in that order. The county Farm
Bureau is the nucleus of the organization.

Glenn County Farm Bureau is a non-profit grass roots organization whose purpose is to protect and promote agricultural interests throughout the state of California and to find solutions to the problems of the farm, the farm home, and the rural community. GCFB is part of California’s largest farm organization the California Farm Bureau Federation which is comprised of 53 county farm bureaus represe

nting 85,000 members in 56 counties. Farm Bureau strives to protect and improve the ability of farmers and ranchers engaged in production agriculture to provide a reliable supply of food and fiber through responsible stewardship of California's resources. It is here that members join by payment of nominal annual dues which entitles them to the wide range of services and benefits of membership. The policies and programs of Farm Bureau are developed from grassroots recommendations originating at the community and county Farm Bureau levels. From these recommendations, tentative policy resolutions are prepared and submitted to the CFBF House of Delegates for action at its annual meeting each December. The House of Delegates is made up of representatives elected by members of the county Farm Bureaus. Resolutions on state matters become CFBF policy. Matters of national interest are forwarded to the American Farm Bureau Federation for consideration. The CFBF Board of Directors determines a program of activities based on action of the House of Delegates. That program is administered by CFBF officers and staff. GCFB has been working to protect agriculture’s interests for over 90 years, but we couldn’t continue our work without the support of our members. Membership dues not only provide funding for fighting issues that are important to the agricultural community, but also for educational opportunities in the area. GCFB provides scholarships for high school students attending college with an interest in an agricultural field. In September the organization hosts our Annual Farm Day for all fourth grade students in Glenn County. The GCFB is also continuously donating and funds to numerous local organizations in need of assistance.

Thank you, Jocelyn, President Glenn County Farm Bureau for always stepping up and supporting agriculture in a various of ways.

Agriculture is the backbone of Northern California, and our farmers deserve every tool available to succeed.

It was a pleasure meeting with Jocelyn Anderson to discuss how NASA Acres is using satellite technology to help producers make smarter decisions and strengthen the long-term success of North State agriculture.
