💙 UFCW Local One Community in Action 💙

Today, the UFCW Local One Executive Board and Staff rolled up their sleeves in Utica, NY, to support an incredible mission with Sleep in Heavenly Peace — building beds for children in our community who don’t have a bed of their own.

This is what union solidarity looks like: showing up, giving back, and making a real difference for local families. We’re proud to stand with organizations like Sleep in Heavenly Peace that are changing lives one child, one bed, and one act of kindness at a time. The One Charity Golf Classic donated $10,000 to Sleep in Heavenly Peace in December with proceeds from the Golf Tournament.

THANK YOU to Republican Congressmen, Rob Bresnahan (Pa.), Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.), Nick LaLota (N.Y.), Jeff Van Drew (N.J.), Chris Smith (N.J.), Riley Moore (W.Va.), and Democratic Congresspeople who all voted AGAINST legislation that would allow employers to avoid fairly paying workers for the time they spend in job-related training.

"I have been in communication with Tops management regarding the recent reports about a potential sale of Northeast Grocery, Inc. I’ve been assured that Tops and its partners are focused on expanding operations and pursuing growth opportunities.

If this exploration does lead to a sale of Northeast Grocery, Inc., our members are no strangers to change — they’ve been through similar transitions over the past three decades. One thing remains constant: regardless of who owns these stores — whether it’s another grocery chain, a private equity group, or it remains under the current structure at Northeast Grocery, Inc. — our dedicated members continue to serve on the front lines.
