Just a reminder to our high-school Visual Arts competition participants. Pickup is this Friday April 3 from 4:30pm-6:30pm and Saturday April 4th from 10:00am- noon at the Orinda Library gallery.
We’ve loved having your art on our walls this past month! Great job to all the student artists for their hard work and a successful show!

The February exhibit is now on display at the Art Gallery at the Orinda Library! The exhibit features a diverse array of works by artist Dave Kwinter, including assemblage sculpture, paintings and digital art prints. Join us for an artist reception tomorrow, Saturday February 7th from 2:30-4:30 PM to meet the artist and view the show!

Calling all high school artists! The annual High School Visual Arts competition is upon us. We encourage you to participate whether art is just a hobby or your full time passion. Note that all high school students living in or attending high school in Moraga, Orinda, Lafayette, and/or Acalanes Union High School District, including Las Lomas High School, are invited to participate.

"Enamored With Canvas and Clay" is on display at the Art Gallery at the Orinda Library! Sharon Tama is one of our fantastic artists this January. Tama has a diverse and ever-changing portfolio of moments in her life. Her paintings encapsulate the brisk rush of travel and cause the viewer to reflect upon their own life adventures. Tama is also a member of the Bay Area Studio Artists and the Lamorinda Arts Alliance. We're excited to announce that Lamorinda Arts Council has been awarded a District Arts Partner grant and recognized for our work for the Arts in Contra Costa. The grant is funded in part by ARTSCCC (Arts Contra Costa County) and their fiscal sponsor Independent Arts & Media thanks to support from Zellerbach Family Foundation, Dean & Margaret Foundation, and Contra Costa County. We are honored to receive this grant in 2026!

"Enamored With Canvas and Clay" is now on display at the Art Gallery at the Orinda Library! This show reflects the diverse work of longtime BASA artists Sharon Tama, Marcy Wheeler, Ellen Reintjes, Pam McCauley, Suzun Almquist, Ruth Stanton and Lassie Coleburn, and features works by ceramicsts Nan Chrostek, Diana O'Byrne, Anne Shulenberger, Barbara Ward, Gorden Ward, Barbara Wheat, Marcy Wheeler and Bonnie Fry. Registration for the 23nd Annual High School Visual Arts Competition 2026 is NOW OPEN! 🎨✨
This juried competition showcases the incredible talent of high school artists who live in or attend school in Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, or any of the Acalanes Union High School District schools. Students in Grades 9-12 are invited to submit their work for inclusion in the Spring exhibit at the Orinda Library Art Gallery, professionally curated by Lamorinda Arts Council.
Artwork Categories: 2D, 3D, Photography, and Digital Art.
Students may offer their artwork for sale to the public!
EXHIBIT | March 2 — April 2, 2026
ARTIST RECEPTION & AWARD CEREMONY | Thursday, March 19th, 7 - 8:30 pm

The December exhibit at the Art Gallery at the Orinda Library features "Seredipity", a show within the show! The featured paintings include scenes of local landscapes, from Lafayette Reservoir to the Benicia refinery.
