btc was founded by families who wanted to teach their boys the importance of giving back and making a difference in their local community. We are the boys team charity Orinda League, members live within the OUSD boundaries or attend Orinda schools. btc teams of 7th through 12th-grade boys, along with their "coaches" (parents), work together to provide hands-on support to non-profit charity organiz

ations in their local communities. In addition to providing valuable community service, we strive to promote personal growth, strengthen family relationships, develop team skills, and provide educational opportunities for our young men.

The Orinda btc general meeting on Sunday (12/4) was held at Lindsay Wildlife Experience (LWE) in Walnut Creek. LWE veterinarian Krystal Woo talked to the group about her work, the most exotic animals she has worked with and volunteer opportunities available at the center. Caring for animals is btc’s national philanthropy effort this year.

As part of the meeting, btc Orinda President Kendall Glynn reviewed class projects- Grateful Gatherings (2027), Lindsay Wildlife (2028), Xenophon (2026), noting that other classes are working on their annual projects.

Past President Julie Oliver discussed Membership renewals and the upcoming new member drive. She asked attendees to think about families who might like to join btc. She also talked about the process for job placements for team members happening in February for next year: parents in March. There are also several Board positions open that the nominating committee is focused on.

Kendall reminded the group about our March 5th meeting to recognize the senior class. Meeting will be at Wilder. Details to follow.

She also have a shout out to the group for the 1855 hours logged so far this year - both philanthropy and volunteer hours.

The group was able to visit the LWE animals after the meeting, including a beautiful bald Eagle!
