How will candidates handle themselves once in office? Will they be good listeners?
Here are two opportunities to see how they listen now. You’re invited to be the guests of honor where candidates for office and advocates for major community issues swap stories. Come meet, mix, ask, and learn! May 14 in West Bountiful (hosted by Rising Violet) and May 20 in Farmington (with opening remarks about accountability by State Auditor Tina Cannon). RSVP on our website or by dm!

So many people in our lives depend on us. And, there's a bigger mission that needs us to ride tonight. It's our Democratic Republic, cowgirls. It's the world we want for ourselves and our loved ones. Saddle up, we ride at dinner.

So you're gong to caucus...yay you! You've pre-registered, found your ID, and done some deep breathing while contemplating your values. You've convinced a couple of neighbors to come too. Reay to level up? Run for precinct officer and/or delegate!

Since you want to serve for the best of reasons, spend one minute explaining what those reasons are. There will be a range of opinions in that room. It's a brave thing to talk with calm conviction about important things, and it's the soul of democracy ✊

It’s how the game is played. 2 hours every two years, there’s a room where it’s happening.

Juuuust kidding!
You can’t overthrow the government at caucus…but you can give it a healthy shove. Caucus with purpose on March 17.

02/24/2026

This take is so important we thought you should get a tl;dr cut. The output of caucus is delegtes to represent you at state and county conventions. Plan to caucus and caucus with a plan! March 17, 2026, caucus with purpose.

02/22/2026

Thanks for the explanation, Rep. Dr. Ray Ward! It’s not so complicated when you lay it out like that. Delegates who are elected by their peers at caucus have a lot of access and power, and almost everything in Utah politics starts with who shows up (with a plan) at caucus. We appreciate you spending some time helping us all understand!

Did ya see our opinion in the paper two years ago? "We vote on issues and candidates. But who chooses those?"

"Caucus night in Utah, when delegates are chosen to represent you, will happen on March [17]. If you’ve never gone to caucus before, you’re in good company. Attendance is considered high when 50 come in a precinct of 800 or more voters, and as a two-hour, weeknight, one-shot deal, it’s inaccessible to many given all the demands in our lives.

"The priorities of the Utah Democratic and Republican parties are shaped by the delegates. This is the room where it happens.

"Yet caucus is arguably the most significant of all the four election days in the cycle. It’s the one moment when your opinion matters on the larger questions about what the choices should be — which candidates you want in leadership roles — what colors are your colors.

Two hours every two years. Bring a friend, bring an ally, and caucus with purpose.
