May is Brain Tumor Awareness Month. And many, many of our MIPs are stuggling with brain tumors. Too many.

We met Lily years ago when we supported her with a MIP Mental Health Day. A day out with her mom and sisters to a spa with lunch afterwards. It was very special to us to be able to do this for her.

In February, Lily and her MIP friend Abigail joined us in the office to share what The MIP Foundation means to them. It gave us goosebumps. One of the BEST things TMF has ever done is bring these two girls together.

Please take a moment to watch the video. Learn what we do. And see why it’s so important.

Kits 323, 324, & 325.

And honestly, it’s hard. These teens and young adults are facing a life threatening diagnosis. One, had to relocate from the west coast. One has a terrible brian tumor. And one is hoping a bone mattow transplant fixes a life long blood disorder.

What isn’t hard?
Seeing the beauty of who they are through their MIP Kits. Their uniqueness and interests. Their will to move forward and above all, their incredible strength and resilience.

The MIP Foundation strives to empower, connect, and encourage adolescents and young adults facing cancer, and we do this through meaningful, hands‑on support that meets them exactly where they are.

We empower AYAs by providing custom MIP Kits designed specifically for their age group, helping them feel seen in environments that often aren’t built with them in mind. We connect them with resources that strengthen coping skills and reduce stress, giving them tools to navigate the emotional and mental challenges of cancer. And we encourage them through events and programs that build community, celebrate resilience, and reinforce that they are not alone.

Each pillar of our work is shaped by the needs of AYAs and inspired by the belief that every young person deserves support that honors their independence, identity, and voice.

Delivered today, received with big smiles- these MIP Kits were especially hard to make. And waaaayyy over budget- that’s why donations matter! 💛⭐️💛

Hold MIP ES close and send thoughts of strength. As a competitive gymnast she got the difficult news that she is going to lose a limb as part of her treatment for bone cancer. She is facing an incredibly hard road ahead of her both mentallyy AND physically.

Her MIP Kit included yoga, so she can continue to use her body when she is ready. Also à large bag of cozy items to help make her hospital room feel more like home and lots of activities to help pass the time. Importantly, coping tools to help manage emotions.

Thank you for helping to support our amazing teens.

AYAs (Adolescents & Young Adults) are building independence, identity, and confidence—right as cancer disrupts school, friendships, freedom, and how they see themselves. They face unique challenges like losing independence, missing out socially, and coping with physical and emotional changes during an already complicated stage of life.

The MIP Foundation supports AYAs by strengthening their mental health, teaching coping skills, and helping them feel empowered and engaged in their care. We introduce them tools to manage the long‑term effects of treatment so they can protect their independence, reclaim their identity, and move forward with confidence.

It’s AYA Cancer Awareness Month. Help us help them by donating: themipfoundation.org/donate

AYA Cancer Awareness Month shines a light on adolescents and young adults facing cancer—a group often overlooked in spaces designed for much younger children. AYAs are treated in pediatric environments where they can often feel out of place.

Recognizing AYAs with a cancer diagnosis matters because their needs are different. They’re navigating independence, identity, school, friendships, and major life milestones—all while managing a life‑altering diagnosis. Having cancer adds to the emotional weight they carry.
