Did you know that there was more than one building that housed Oregon Lodge #151? Also, that there were two designs considered before the building that you see today?
With the exception of Today's lodge at 201 Park Street, each of the four previous locations had been leased.
The first building in 1866 was located at 134 South Main Street near what is now Maria's Pizza. In 1873, they outgrew the building.
The second building was Netherwood's Hall (not to be confused with the earlier 'Netherwood' Hall) built by Charles Netherwood a Mason and founding Brother of the lodge. This building burned in 1898.
Our lodge then leased the second floor of 119 South Main Street, just south of Doc's Supper Club. in a building built by Brother Henry H. Marvin who ran a hardware store on the first floor.
In 1952 we were running out of space at 119 South Main, and the Lodge members discussed building their own Lodge at 201 Park Street where is is today.
Included here are also some other concepts of the Park street Lodge which never came to pass, but instead evolved into the lodge we have today.
