📣ALUMNI INTERVIEW📣

A very special opportunity has come to be! 🙌

Recently, the daughter (Janet) of a 1942 Clay grad (Mitzi) saw our interview with Warren Morrison ‘42 at the Florida reunion posted on our page.

Mitzi had often wondered if she had any classmates from Clay 1942 out in the world. Upon watching the video message from Warren, Janet immediately messaged us to see if we could connect her mom with Warren for a conversation.

👉We went one step further.
👉We quickly arranged a Zoom call.

We are so delighted to introduce you to:
Warren Morrison and Marjorie “Mitzi” Johnson Staskiewicz

✅Each from Clay High - Class of 1942
✅Each are 101 years old
✅Each were born in 1924
✅Each family agreed to allow us to share the conversation with you.

Our hosted zoom call went on for about an hour.

We have since broken down the conversation into 6 segments. Some are longer than others.

This session contains INTRODUCTIONS Part 1.

Not noted during the interview, but asked after the fact:
✏️Warren went to Coy Elementary K-8th grade.
✏️Mitzi went to Wynn Elementary

A HUGE Thank you to the families for helping set up the technology to facilitate our zoom interview. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Eagles Forever! 🦅

p.s. We will post each video segment separately each day for six days.

Thought we'd share the yearbook clip of Roland Fondessy, CHS '56.

Thank you Debra Fondessy Turnow CHS '74 for donating your dad's letter sweater. It's so cool!

Roland went on to found Fondessy Enterprises, the trash pick up company he founded upon graduation in 1956. He passed away in 2023.

THANK YOU to Debra Fondessy Turnow CHS '74 for the donation of your dad's letter sweater to the Alumni Room at Clay High School. (via Cindy Turnow Breese, CHS '74)

Roland Fondessy was in the Class of 1956, played football and intramurals.

What a GEM! It will be on display at the Centennial Celebration on Sep 4th. We are so appreciative!

On behalf of the Clay Alumni Advisory Committee, we are pleased to announce the recipients of the first annual Clay Alumni Association Scholarship, presented today by Terri Wamer-Hook, CHS '79.

Congratulations to the following seniors:

🦅 Addison Hugueley
🦅 Jadyn Kennedy
🦅 Lia Nowak
🦅 Emily Schultz

The Eagle Fest has made it possible for the Clay Alumni Association to award four $500 scholarships this year. Since its establishment in Spring 2024, the CAA has worked to strengthen alumni connections and support Clay students through meaningful projects and events.

In just two years, the organization has purchased new Eddie and Edna Eagle mascot uniforms and hosted a successful inaugural Eagle Fest, which directly funded today’s CAA Senior Scholarships.

Because of strong alumni support, we are able to invest directly back into the students of Clay High School and continue building opportunities that strengthen Eagle pride for years to come.

Clay Alumni Association in conjunction with Clay High School, contracted Nick to help us create a special 💯 year commemorative video sharing our century old stories. It will be released at the Centennial Celebration on Sep. 4th.

Take a PEEK. 👀
Nick was on campus a few days last week to capture some footage to round out the storytelling. A special legacy project for sure...

We cannot wait to see the final product!
