Prince of Life is a community of folks who are aware of God’s goodness and love, and who want to respond by following Jesus in our everyday lives. We’ve become connected to this faith family because we’ve discovered:

* A warm, welcoming atmosphere where we find a place to belong

🔴 Reformation Sunday: October 25 🔴

This Sunday, we wear red and celebrate the Reformation, a day that reminds us of who we are and whose we are.

On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther invited the church into an honest conversation about grace. What he rediscovered still shapes us today: we are saved by God's grace through faith, not by anything we earn or achieve. It's a gift, freely given.

But Reformation Sunday isn't only about looking back. Our tradition says the church is "always being reformed" by the Spirit, and that means us, too. Every day we're invited to trust God's promises, open Scripture, and love our neighbors as Christ loves us.

The red we wear is the color of the Holy Spirit, who keeps the church alive and moving.

Join us for worship, including a rousing "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God"! Wear red if you have it, and bring a friend.

Today we celebrate..........Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Honoring the First Peoples of this land with truth, gratitude, and respect

Today we join communities across the country in recognizing Indigenous Peoples’ Day—a day to honor the wisdom, resilience, and ongoing contributions of Native peoples who have stewarded these lands since long before our nation existed.

As a Lutheran congregation, we remember that:

* God calls us to truth-telling, especially about histories that include harm.

* We are invited to listen deeply to Indigenous voices and stories.

* Healing begins when we acknowledge past injustices and commit ourselves to justice, dignity, and right relationship.

* Creation care, community, and spiritual resilience—values central to Indigenous cultures—are gifts we can learn from with humility.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is not only about the past; it’s about the present and future. Indigenous communities continue to shape our shared life through leadership, art, environmental stewardship, and cultural wisdom.

Today we give thanks, we listen, and we recommit ourselves to walking in respect, solidarity, and hope.

Today is...........World Mental Health Day

Because every person deserves care, compassion, and a life free from shame

Today we pause to remember something deeply important: mental health is part of being human. It’s not a weakness, not a failure, and never something to hide. In our Lutheran understanding of grace, we affirm that God meets us in our whole selves—mind, body, and spirit—and calls us to care for one another with honesty and love.

Why this day matters:

Many people carry silent burdens, unsure if it’s “okay” to talk about them.

Shame keeps people isolated when what they need most is connection.

Faith communities can be places of healing, where struggles are named without judgment.

God’s love frees us to speak truthfully about our lives and seek the support we need.

On World Mental Health Day, we commit to being a community where no one has to pretend they’re fine, where asking for help is honored, and where compassion is stronger than stigma.

If you’re struggling, you’re not alone.
If you’re healing, we’re with you.
If you’re supporting someone else, thank you for showing Christ’s love in action.

Let’s keep building a church—and a world—where mental health is spoken of openly, cared for tenderly, and never met with shame.
