GMOC Morning Networking this week was hosted by Geeks and Games, who are about to celebrate their 10 year business anniversary.
Geeks and Games is Oregon City's premiere tabletop and board game store and playspace. They stock hundreds of games including classics like Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, and D&D. There is always a gaming event happening at Geeks and Games.
La Donna Cox, store owner and former Chamber board member, told us how Geeks and Games aims to connect families, get kids of screens, and support the community through charity fundraisers.

Wendy opened the meeting with a Chamber-wide song of Happy Birthday for Ambassador Nancy Davis from Davis Green Cleaning. Happy Birthday Nancy! ๐

- Kacy from Buel's Impressions Printing received seven kudos ๐ฅ
- Matthew, your Membership and Marketing Manager for The Chamber, bashfully received five kudos ๐ฅ
- Nathan, our guest from Spearworks AI, received a kudos for his AI work with Bizcube.
- OC Sign Group received three kudos. It's also worth pointing out that John stopped the meeting to make sure our guest Melissa, from another sign company, had her turn to speak. That's the energy we want.
- Melissa went on to give kudos to Milwaukie Floors & More, LLC for her flooring that makes neighbors jealous. Donna received two kudos.
- Tรจa and BIZ CUBE LLC received three kudos ๐ฅ, for hosting Flourish Marketing groups.
- Rachel with Ricochet Body Solutions received a kudos
- Ginza Sushi & Asian Fusion impressed Sheldon so much he went twice in a row.
- La Donna from Geeks and Games received six kudos ๐ฅ for her long time dedication to the community.
- The Wild Hare Saloon OC, who Bryce Jackson mentioned has trivia night on Wednesdays.
- Mark Meek with Avid Real Estate Executives received a kudos for a property he priced up.
- City of Oregon City Parks and Recreation were praised for their amazing Fall Fest last weekend, three times ๐ฅ
- Watershed Cafe & Bistro received two kudos, and were mentioned many more times. Its the place to be.
- Buel's Greenscapes received another kudos.

๐ฏ Chamber Announcements ๐ฏ
Jon, your Chamber director, reminded everyone to get a GMOC hosting date if they'd like one. They're starting to be booked into next year.
He also mentioned The Chamber is seeking Ambassadors for it's Ambassador team. This is the team that puts on the GMOC events.
He closed by saying Matthew was putting together a Marketing Committee. This committee will be researching new marketing channels for the Chamber, but also polling businesses for the most successful marketing channels. Reach out if you're interested in joining.
Matthew told everyone about an interview with Laurie from mฤk and Tara from Watershed Cafe & Bistro that will be published soon on The Chamber website. Look for it in the newsletter.
Matt also announced the Chambers' list of Community Events that businesses can sponsor, which will be launching soon with the aim of inviting some of OCs bigger businesses into the community space.
๐ฃ Community Announcements ๐ฃ
- Petronella announced that their long awaited senior care facility, Asteria Gardens, has finally opened. They are planning an open house and ribbon cutting on October 16th at 1:00pm. (182 Warner Parrot RD)
- Claire Met told us that Oregon City Woman's Club is having their BINGO fundraiser this Sunday at the Pioneer Center. We'll put the poster in the comments.
- Larry Moseley told us about some of the programs supporting veterans going on right now. Including free gun safes for vets to tackle su***de rates. They are giving away green lighbulbulbs to add to your porch that signal your support. Larry's story was interrupted because his time was up, but the crowd encouraged him to continue and Steve Leitz gave up his time for Larry.
- We were delighted to be visited by long time Chamber advocate Trieste Andrews who came with another community champion, Heidi Blackwell from Environmental Learning Center at CCC. They told us about their very unique fundraiser coming up on October 17th which includes cockroach paintings and, get this, chicken p**p drop ๐๐ฉโ. Yours truly will be there.
- Dan, our Oregon City Handyman, announced he'd started a new business called Tapped Roots. It's a mobile bar for parties, and Chamber members get a discount.
- Geeks and Games announced their store anniversary special on October 25th. This will also be their Black Friday event. Guests can roll a D20 for special free prizes.
- Kristina Cray from Expert Power Wash mentioned she was looking for a videographer for some business videos.
- Carol Griesmeyer from Raindragon Wellness and Creations was selling a range of coloring books that covered Halloween and Advent. One of her books had several years of Advent calendars to color.
- Julie Hugo from Clackamas Community College told us about Indigenous Peoples Day this Saturday noon-4pm at The College. She brought some really cool looking posters.
- Donna from Milwaukie Floors & More, LLC told us about their 9th anniversary, which will be marked with an anniversary party on October 29th at 4pm. ๐
