Thank you to everyone who came out this morning for Morning Networking which was held at Holman Hankins Bowker & Waud funeral services with Tim Waud. Their tagline for this morning - "We're the last ones to let you down."

Holman Hankins Bowker & Waud has been in business since 1890! In one of the photos below you can see a sketch of the original building. Thank you to Tim and the others at HHBW for hosting us this morning.

Kudos went out to many Chamber businesses. Including The Wild Hare Saloon OC, Watershed Cafe & Bistro , and Ginza Sushi & Asian Fusion for their excellent menus. Oregon City Porchfest (and Wendy's band) got four shout outs. Others went out to Buel's Impressions Printing, Gladstone Subway, Dave Walz mortgage advisor, Selena Ross for her beautiful flower arrangements, Holman Hankins Bowker & Waud for being so easy to work with, Decked out Designs, Angel Ink Tattoo, Ricochet Body Solutions for great massages, the Oregon City Chamber of Commerce for the work we've been doing (thank you William), Chase Heating & Cooling, Inc. (twice), Expert Junk Removal, and Tim Delano's tomato sandwiches 🍅.

A big shout out went to the four candidates running for office that choose to visit us; Michael Sugar, Adam Baker, Betty Mumm, and Gordon Lawrence. That tells us a lot about the importance you put on local businesses. Thank you all.

For Chamber announcements Jon (pictured pointing at the camera) told us that two new GMOC hosting spots have become available in September HOWEVER, as I write this the September 2nd spot has been taken by💥 Comics Adventure.💥 That will also include their ribbon cutting. 🎉 so mark your calendar 🎉

The September 29th GMOC is still available to host. If you'd like to host it, let us know.

The date for this year's Chamber Gala has been set for October 16th at the Carver Event Center. More info to come on that but please start thinking about sponsorships and gift baskets. You know it'll be a hoot.

This month's BIZ CUBE LLC Business Book Club read is 'What I Wish I Knew About Luck: A Crash Course on Turning Aspirations Into Achievements. They meet this Thursday at Biz Cube. 📚🍷 More info in the comments.

A few announcements from our members:

He also mentioned the ribbon cutting for Bee-Lieve Education Foundation, Inc (helping veterans learn about bee keeping) will be on September 4th.
Baskin Robbins is raising money for children's cancer centers every Sunday.

Rachel with Ricochet Body Solutions won the door price, a wonderful flower arrangement.

Split the Bucks was $77 and won 🍀again🍀 by Sean Kerr. Use Kerr Properties, Inc. and maybe some of that luck will rub off on you.

Finally, a big thank you to our visitors this morning and to our ambassador team who always puts on a great show.

Have a great rest of your week, folks. Lets go do some business.

Ever heard of an "SOB" flag? That was Oregon City's old design.

William Gifford of smALL FLAGs, Chamber member and bona fide vexillologist, sat down with us to explain Oregon City's new flag: what it symbolizes, how the community shaped the design, and why the old flag had to go.

Give it a read, then tell us: what do you think of the new design?

Local vexillologist William Gifford of Small Flags explains how Oregon City's new flag came to be, from citizen polls to tribal consultation and a lesson from Canada.
