Today we celebrated Officer Dan Shockley’s retirement. Dan grew up in Oregon City and joined OCPD in 1999. He was Oregon City’s first canine handler, starting the program from scratch and working with three dogs for more than 20 years. Beyond his duties as a handler, Dan was a field training officer and ended his career as a school resource officer. Dan has touched countless lives during his career and will be missed!

Congratulations to our former member, Travis Schachtel. After nine years with OCPD, he’s returning to the West Linn Police Department to serve as a sergeant. We’re sad to see him go but know he’s a great addition to WLPD.

Check out our K9 stuffies! All proceeds go to the K9 retirement fund.
