Thank you Rene Pizzo for helping this Cooper’s hawk in Milwaukie yesterday get to care at Bird Alliance of Oregon Wildlife Care Center . The resident had no means of transportation and had exhausted their friend and family list for help. That’s where we come in! Good luck to this raptor friend that has an injured wing from an unknown cause.

Baby season may be winding down, but wildlife rescue season definitely isn’t! 🍂 🐦

As fall approaches, OCCRA volunteers are still responding to vehicle collisions, window strikes, ground birds, and etc- and even the occasional late-season nestling.

This young California scrub-jay was found unable to stand or walk after possibly falling from its nest and getting into fresh cement. 🐦 💔 Thankfully a volunteer was able to get the little one contained and headed toward care.

Wildlife emergencies happen year-round. If you find an injured or distressed wild animal, reach out for guidance before attempting to move or care for it yourself ❤️

North Portland : This week a resident called us… they had placed traps around their property to catch rats, a skunk got their foot trapped in said trap, then became stuck in their uncovered window well. The resident did not feel comfortable handling the animal or helping them further but at least made a call which we will take as a win here. Please be cognizant of traps, whom they harm, and be willing to help any unintentioned victims even when inconvenient or potent 🦨❤️🙏. Thank you Frank for helping this gentle creature get to care Bird Alliance of Oregon Wildlife Care Center .

OCCRA WILDLIFE RESCUE #650
This little AMRO - American Robin, was witnessed falling out of a nest in Portland this week, and after the Good Samaritan witness realized they may have been cat caught to boot, they called for help, as they had no means of transportation and had exhausted all other resources and her community. No one was free to help. You guessed it, Frank to the rescue. Frank B. 🙏👏❤️⛑️

Tight squeeze today to help a great horned owl in Sandy. Thank you Ami Brown and her community for calling this in! Owl had been seen not doing well for last several days. They are in the hands of the care team now Bird Alliance of Oregon Wildlife Care Center and we wish them luck. Not sure cause of injury or flightlessness. But glad they are in good hands now 🙏⛑️🦉❤️

Frank B. - a force of nature and super volunteer ⛑️🙏👏 .
