Reducing and reusing don't have to be complicated. From shopping secondhand and donating usable items to repairing, refilling, renting, and finding new uses for things you already have, there are lots of ways to keep good stuff in use and out of the landfill.

Clackamas County, Oregon has created an interactive map that makes it easier to find local reuse, refill, rental, donation, repair, and other resources throughout the area.

And if you're a Gleaners member, be sure to check out the resource handouts available at our warehouse, with information on a variety of community resources.

We're always looking for ways to connect our members with helpful resources beyond the food we provide.

Ralph has been a faithful part of Gleaners for many years, volunteering two or more days each week as one of our forklift drivers. Some days, he'd arrive as early as 6:00 a.m. and stay until 6:00 p.m., always ready to help wherever he was needed.

A true team player, Ralph is known for his dedication, willingness to help, and always-present smile. His commitment is exactly the kind of service that goes above and beyond.

Thank you, Ralph, for your years of faithful service and all that you do for our community. ๐Ÿ’š

Stay tuned as we celebrate our third Shepherds Ambassador Club inductee!

A wonderful day celebrating our Gleaners community!

More than 300 members and adoptees joined us Saturday for our Member Appreciation Picnic, enjoying good food, games, activities, team spirit, and plenty of fun. From cotton candy and face painting to tie-dye, bingo, and raffles, there was something for everyone!

Most importantly, the picnic gave us a chance to celebrate and thank the volunteers who make Gleaners possible. Their time, dedication, and heart are at the center of everything we do. ๐Ÿ’š

Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so special! Stay tuned for our Team Spirit and Coloring Contest winners! ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ†

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated fresh produce from their gardens this season. Your generosity helps provide healthy, locally grown food to Gleaners members while ensuring nothing goes to waste.

We appreciate every tomato, cucumber, zucchini, berry, and bunch of herbs you've shared!

Look at all this creativity! ๐ŸŽจ

We've loved seeing all of the colorful entries coming in for our Gleaners Member Coloring Contest! Every page has been so unique, and we can't wait to see even more.

Good news! We've decided to extend the contest through Wednesday, August 5, so there's still time for children in Gleaners member households to join the fun! If your child hasn't turned in their coloring page yet, bring it to the warehouse by August 5 for a chance to win a prize.

Contest guidelines and entry requirements can be found in your team boxes. Thank you to all of our young artists who have already participated, we're so impressed by your creativity! ๐Ÿ–๏ธ

Sometimes, the journey doesn't end at our warehouse.

When excess product is available, Gleaners partners with organizations like Pelican Harbor Food-Bank in Coos Bay to help ensure good food reaches even more communities.

On Wednesdayโ€™s, the Pelican Harbor team leaves at 2:00 am to arrive at Gleaners by 6:00 am to pick up food. They then bring it back to Coos Bay, where they distribute it to their community on Thursday mornings. Cars begin lining up as early as 3:00 am for an 8:00 am distribution, a powerful reminder of the need that exists.

We're grateful to partner with organizations like Pelican Harbor Food-Bank to extend the reach of rescued food and help serve communities across Oregon. Together, we're reducing waste and making sure good food finds a home.

Some people leave a lasting impact simply by showing up, year after year.

Since 2008, Carol Anderson Neff has faithfully served Gleaners with dedication, generosity, and a heart for helping others. Last month, she was honored as one of three new inductees into the Shepherds Ambassador Club. An invitation extended to individuals who have dedicated 15 or more years of service to Gleaners and consistently go above and beyond in support of our mission and community.

Carol, thank you for everything you've done to support Gleaners and the countless lives you've touched along the way. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor! ๐Ÿ’š

We'll be introducing the other two inductees soon, so stay tuned!

From our warehouse to your community.

Every week, our 42 Gleaners teams work together to make food distribution possible across Clackamas County. This behind-the-scenes look follows our Rosewood Team in Molalla as they unload, sort, distribute, and clean up after serving their fellow members.

On this particular day, the team temporarily held distribution outdoors while their building was being used for another event.

It takes many helping hands to make each distribution happen, and we're grateful for all our volunteers who make a difference week after week. ๐ŸŒฑ
