✨ Pantry Prep Day = Teamwork at its best! 💙

Our amazing volunteers were busy today getting everything ready so we can open our doors tomorrow and welcome our families in for shopping! From organizing shelves to making sure everything is stocked and ready to go, they put so much heart into every detail.

We are so grateful for the incredible people who show up, give their time, and help make sure our neighbors have access to the food they need. 💙

✨ Volunteer Spotlight: Gail Micca ✨

Gail is one of those volunteers who makes a BIG impact both behind the scenes and at the Pantry! 💛

Not only does Gail, along with the Allentown West Rotary Club, help provide the fresh produce our families receive each month, but she also rolls up her sleeves and comes to the Pantry to help pack it all so it's ready for shopping days.

And that's just the beginning! Gail has helped prep the Pantry, pack snack packs for local students, and has generously shared her expertise as a Master Gardener (yes, a real Master Gardener! 🌱).

Whether she's helping feed families, supporting our programs, or sharing her knowledge, Gail always brings kindness, energy, and a willingness to help.

Gail, thank you for all you do to help us serve our community. We are so grateful to have you as part of the Parkland CARES family!

This month started our change to our evening PM Donation Hours. We have moved from the 4th Thursday of the month to the 1st Thursday of the month due to a scheduling change at the Pantry.

Thank you for your flexibility and continued support as we make this adjustment! We’re so grateful for everyone who takes the time to donate and help keep our shelves stocked for local families. 💛

🎉❤️It’s our 7th Anniversary today at Parkland CARES Food Pantry!

On June 19, 2019, we opened our doors for the very first time with one goal in mind: to help support our neighbors facing food insecurity.

Seven years later, our Parkland CARES family has grown in ways we could have only hoped for. More families are being served through our Choice Pantry, more snack packs are being prepared for students, and next school year, we're adding a third week of snack pack packing!

We also now have a van to help pick up food donations from local businesses and food partners, making it even easier to get food where it needs to go.

And the best part? We're just getting started.

None of this would be possible without our incredible volunteers, donors, community partners, businesses, schools, organizations, and neighbors who continue to show up for our mission year after year. Your kindness, time, generosity, and belief in this work have helped us grow, serve, and care for our community in bigger ways than ever before.

Thank you for being part of our story and for helping us continue to nourish our neighbors. We can't wait to see what this next year has in store! ❤️

🥣💙 A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Cetronia Elementary Student Government, Girls on the Run, and the Parents’ Association of Cetronia (PAC) for their incredible food drive benefiting Parkland CARES!

Through their joint effort, they collected more than **450 pounds of food**, including:

⭐ 355 boxes of macaroni & cheese
⭐ 47 boxes and containers of cereal
⭐ 27 containers of jelly
⭐ 12 boxes of pasta
⭐ 12 boxes of granola bars

This amazing donation will help stock our shelves and provide meals for local families facing food insecurity.

We're especially grateful to the students who stepped up to make a difference. Seeing young people come together to help their neighbors is truly inspiring and reminds us that kindness has no age limit.

Thank you to everyone who donated, organized, and supported this effort. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on families throughout our community! 💛

☕💛 Another amazing Coffee Talk in the books!

Today we hosted our 4th Coffee Talk at the North Whitehall Township Building, and our six guests had a wonderful time connecting, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company.

There were puzzles being put together, coloring happening, and even a heated game of Uno (the competition was real! 😄). Of course, we enjoyed coffee, pastries, fruit, and juice while sharing lots of smiles and conversation.

We can’t wait to do it all over again next month! ☕💛

Summer is here, and we want to make sure our families know about SUN Bucks — a program that provides $120 per eligible child to help with grocery costs during the summer months. 🛒

Many children will receive this benefit automatically, but some families may need to apply. Scan the QR code on the flyer to see if your family qualifies.

We are so grateful to Girl Scout Troop 6122 from New Tripoli for creating and donating thoughtful birthday kits for the children in the families we serve at Parkland CARES. 💛

Because of your kindness and creativity, local children will be able to celebrate their birthdays with a little extra joy and feel truly special on their big day. 🎈🧁
