Our unique philosophy rehabilitates the animals and connects their stories of survival and healing to the personal experiences of the people who have also suffered physical, mental, or emotional trauma. The healing that takes place at The Gress Mountain Ranch is truly miraculous. It is God's "heaven on earth." The Gress Mountain Ranch embodies the interdependence of the human and animal communities. Today, was another caring day by Maria and also, Young Andy newly wed man. THey both came out to help at The Gress Mountain Ranch. Thank you Maria for the 6 nice boxes of produce today. Plus all the great help you provided post Saturday's event. And our new volunteer Andy, young man, who also obtained several nice boxes of produce. And he too, filled in the holes in the pasture with dirt, and did all the trash/recycling. There was alot of both.

This Especially, was rewarding seeing these 2 people's smiling faces and happy to help the animals as well as help an older couple with the animals chores.
Our hearts are filled with gratitude to you both today.
❤️❤️❤️ and that is why we do what we do each day for the animals and the people we serve.

Yesterday, was one of our annual event Trunk and Treat by Pastor Brenda and her church at the Schnecksville Fire Company. The Gress Mountain Ranch, has done this event many, many, many years, , with Horse rides, Donkey cart rides, and provided a nice "Petting Zoo", for all the children and adults alike.

This year was so different to begin, as we had volunteers lined up to help handle and do all the activities. It does take a good sized group of volunteers, to do what we do.
However, volunteer circumstances of "life", had 4 of them cancelling with us for this event even the day before beyond their control.

You can just imagine, how we felt: We strive hard to bring to all events: Positive experiences with a large group of animals doing all those activities.
So, instead, I’ll just say THANK YOU to several people. You all were our saving grace, and we’re beyond grateful to have each and every one of you in our life ❤️.

Thank you Vanessa, Matthias Sr. and Matthias Jr, Young Ben, Julie, Arabella, Linda, and Aubrey Roos helping Kathryn & Ben with 11 animals. JoJo, Cecely,2 donkeys, Rwanda, Krieggiee',2 goats, Howard, Nervous Nelson, 1 Industry Duck, 1 Turkey, Lola, Zoey, 2 Pot-bellied Pigs, MiMi, Rebecca, 2 Miniature Horses, and Sasha. our Pyreneean Mastiff dog~ all went to actively Participate at this FUN event.

And to all of the people that came out this weekend to experience our animal farmily, we Thank you, for telling us, how you enjoyed your time with the animals and us! Kathryn has said it many times before, nothing brings us more joy than seeing others enjoy TGMR animals.

Kathryn and Ben have poured their hearts into the mission of Animals Helping People & People Helping Animals. The animals loved all of the kind interactions they had. Especially because of how our weekend started, seeing so many smiling faces and happy animals filled our hearts ❤️❤️❤️ is why we do what we do.

Our Story

TGMR is very fortunate to have Jim, a very dedicated and caring volunteer, here at TGMR. Jim has helped Ben on weekly activities for the ranch, from cleaning the Duck pond, to helping Ben, put up a large acre fencing project. We are truly grateful to Jim for making this happen with Ben. This nice area is secure, and takes care of one pony, Princess Pony, one minature, horse, MiMi, one lamb, Freddie, and 4 pot-bellied pigges, Hamlet, Scooter, Bruizer, (Jim’s favorite) and Gypsy Queen. Weekly, Jim will stop, if donations of produce are available and pick them up locally and bring them over for the animals to TGMR. We are so very Proud of Jim and getting several big projects done and completed for the ranch and the animals that call TGMR their forever “home.”

Clare Schultes The Gress Mountain Ranch is a great place to gain valuable experience with such a large variety of animals. They each have very unique personalities and are so lucky to have fallen into the hands of Kathryn and Ben Gress. Their care for these animals goes above and beyond feeding. They include cleaning, vet visits, and special care giving during all kinds of weather. Kathryn teaches me something new every visit and is really helping me grow as an aspiring Veterinary Technician. Her kind, caring, and positive attitude is very inspiring amongst the chaos of taking care of so many animals. It really shows the compassion she has for all the animals and endurance to keep the ranch going. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to volunteer at such a unique and well-kept ranch. I encourage The Gress Mountain Ranch to anyone looking for experience with small and large animals or anyone with a love for animals looking to volunteer. Kathryn is a great teacher with a lot of knowledge and experience in animal care. It’s an amazing environment that has been created right here in our area. Thank you Kathryn and Ben Gress, for keeping The Gress Mountain Ranch going. Your love for animals is unconditional, they are really given the best life possible and it is truly a treasure to be a part of.
