Dear Sponsors and Friends:
This year 2020, Threshold Ministries celebrates twenty-three years of ministry. We have been blessed to serve the children and families of Linjiang, People’s Republic of China.
Sadly, we inform you that we must now close our ministry. Thousands of Non-Governmental Organizations have left China ahead of us and we have held out as long as we could. We are no longer welcome there by the government. The Linjiang Security Bureau has just opened a new office whose sole purpose is to watch us. They have cautioned us and now we must heed their warning.
We will close our ministry at the end of this year on December 31, 2020.
We have negotiated with the Linjiang government, offering our Hope House orphanage in exchange for their agreement to take care of all of our children and find employment for our staff. We are delighted to report that they have accepted our proposal and have committed by contract. For them to care for the children has been our prayer from the beginning. We rejoice in God’s provision.
I speak for all our staff and Board of Directors when I say that this work has been the joy of our lives. Together we have made a difference, dear friends. We have sponsored 656 children and helped 376 of them to graduate from university or college. We have been faithful to the call the Lord entrusted to us and we will be remembered for it.
