Our organization has granted over 500 wishes to income qualifying seniors and those residing care facilities. Sometimes, it’s a simple need we help with.

Granting life-enriching wishes to low income seniors and those in care facilities, recognizing the service of WNY Senior Veterans with HERO Boxes and bringing holiday gifts to 100's of isolated seniors each December so they know they are not forgotten. Senior Wishes was created to recognize that our aging seniors still have things they want to do, places they want to go, or people they want to see. We transform those dreams into reality.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY!

As we get ready to honor our Veterans next month, we’re taking a look back at one of the most meaningful wishes Senior Wishes has ever had the privilege of granting.

In 2019, we granted WWII Veteran Robert’s wish to sit in the cockpit of a C-130 transport plane at Niagara Falls Air Force Base. Several of his family members joined him for the experience, which even included a seat in the bomb dropping simulators.

Robert’s visit created special memories for everyone who had the opportunity to meet him. As he sat in the cockpit, he kept saying, “I’d never be able to fly a plane like this.” He was amazed by all the electronics and technology inside the aircraft.

Robert was treated to a special presentation and even held his own Q&A session! There wasn’t a dry eye in the place. ❤️

It was a powerful reminder that honoring our Veterans isn’t just about remembering their service—it’s about making sure they know how much their courage and sacrifice mean to all of us.

Thank you, Robert, for your service and for allowing us to be part of such a special memory.

Donna hadn’t been to the Buffalo Zoo since 1977! So, when we asked Donna, “What would you wish for?” her answer was easy: to go back to the zoo!

Our wonderful volunteer, Ruth, regularly visits the zoo with our wish recipients, and she was delighted to make Donna’s wish come true. Together, they enjoyed a beautiful, sunny day filled with special memories.

One of the highlights was Donna’s unforgettable encounter with the zoo’s friendly giraffes—AJ, Moki, and Zuri. 🦒 After lunch, Donna and Ruth explored the zoo gift shop, where Donna picked out a T-shirt, mug, and giraffe figurine to commemorate her wonderful day.

It was a beautiful trip down memory lane and a truly special wish come true for Donna! 💙

🏀 FLASHBACK FRIDAY! 🏀

Let’s take a trip down memory lane to one of Frank’s unforgettable wishes!

A huge basketball fan, Frank’s wish was to see the Harlem Globetrotters in action—and we were thrilled to make it happen! Even better, Frank got to share this special experience with his best friend by his side.

We made sure the two of them had an extra-special evening filled with plenty of fun, laughter, and memories they could cherish.

We love looking back at these special wishes and remembering the smiles they brought!
