THIRD - We will be electing two new Board of Education members. The role of school board members is to hire and evaluate the superintendent and approve overall spending on the annual budget. That’s it. Board members are not trained or qualified to make curriculum decisions. Period.

Tomorrow we will all have a chance to vote on a couple proposals related to OP Central School District. FIRST - District officials are proposing Capital improvements for buildings and properties in the district. Full details. https://www.opschools.org/Page/10883

This Capital project is a huge game-changer. Most importantly though is ZERO percent tax levy! Between reserves and state aid, we will not be hit with an increase. This time window is small to get this done so it is imperative to vote. VOTE TOMORROW, TUESDAY MAY 17 at OP HIGHSCHOOL

Some feel good news to share:

Although we had to temporarily pause our blanket drive, the Orchard Park Central School District girls modified, JV and Varsity soccer teams took extra safety precautions & still collected 144 blankets for children who are spending the holidays at Oishei Children's Hospital. Juniors Olivia Kirk and Keely Thorpe led about 60 of their teammates in grades 7-12 on this project, and yesterday I was thrilled to join them and their coaches Mike Graffeo and Joe Adamec to deliver them to the hospital.

Thankful is an understatement - these young women are extraordinary!
