Dear Brothers and Sisters,
IBEW Local 41 is calling on all New York members, retirees, and family members to write to the Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC) Board of Directors and voice their support for the proposed Stream US Data Centers project at STAMP in Genesee County.
This $19.4 billion investment represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create good-paying union jobs, strengthen local economies, and support long-term infrastructure improvements in Western New York. The Stream project will create more than 1,200 construction jobs including 300-500 IBEW Local 41 jobs annually over five years. It will also generate significant revenue for schools, infrastructure, and public services, while supporting local businesses and contractors across the region with very little environmental impact.
For IBEW members, this project means expanded access to high-quality job opportunities, hundreds of thousands more workforce hours, stronger long-term economic growth in our communities, and increased demand for skilled electrical workers. It also represents a critical investment in infrastructure that directly benefits working families. Good-paying union jobs help maintain strong communities. Projects like this help strengthen local economies, reinforce demand for skilled union labor, and support long-term job stability in key industries like energy and technology.
