Orangeburg, SC Chapter, The Drifters, Incorporated The Orangeburg Chapter of the Drifters, Incorporated, was installed on August 5, 2010, in South Bend By December, the first chapter was established in Chicago.

The Drifters, Incorporated was conceived in Waco, Texas in 1954. During the next two years, chapters were organized in Louisville, Indianapolis, St. Louis, New York and Greater Kansas City. The first and founding convention of The Drifters, Inc. was hosted by the Chicago Chapter at the Sheraton-Chicago Hotel from October 11-13, 1957. Over the years, The Drifters, Inc. continues to be in the public

focus – not only because of our unique charitable, civic, and social involvement – because we continue our on-going commitment to serve as role models and to enhance the universal image of womanhood in the cities where we reside. We have 32 Chapters throughout the United States. The Orangeburg, SC Chapter of the Drifters, Incorporated was installed on August 5, 2010 in South Bend, Indiana at the 54th Annual Drifters Convention. The only chapter of Drifters, Incorporated in South Carolina, the Orangeburg Chapter is striving to get the word out on the human services opportunities agencies can have with us.
