Level up your mental health knowledge! 🐉🎲

Traditional therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. For many individuals—especially those who are neurodivergent or navigating behavioral health challenges—building social skills and processing emotions can happen naturally through collaborative play.

Join NAMI Rockland and The Bodhana Group for our upcoming Monthly Health Forum: Leveling Up Mental Health Through Therapeutic Gaming.

👉 Register here to receive the Zoom link: https://namirockland.org/event/june-2026-monthly-health-forum/

In this FREE virtual presentation, we'll explore how tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) like Dungeons & Dragons are being used as powerful tools to support mental health, develop interpersonal skills, and create safe, inclusive spaces for personal growth.

What we’ll cover:

🧠 Therapeutic TTRPGs: How tabletop games are adapted for clinical settings.

🤝 Collaborative Play: Using guided gaming to practice emotional regulation and problem-solving in a low-stakes environment.

🧩 Supporting Neurodivergence: Why this model is highly effective for individuals with Autism, ADHD, and other behavioral health needs.

❓ Live Q&A: Ask our guest speakers how therapeutic gaming works in practice!

Whether you're a parent seeking alternative support options for your child, a mental health professional, or just curious about the intersection of gaming and psychology, this event is for you!

Powerful advocacy from youth mental health advocate Cody Hauptman featured in Newsday's guest essay, "System fails too many young people."
By sharing his lived experience, Cody highlights the urgent need for accessible, community-based mental health supports for children and youth across New York State. Stories like this remind us why youth voice and family voice must be centered in conversations around systems change and care.
