-If you grew up with a strong single mom…GO TO THERAPY.
-If either parent was absent…GO TO THERAPY.
-If you had to grow up too fast…GO TO THERAPY.
-If you had to be the man or woman of the house as a child…GO TO THERAPY.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that scammers using officers’ names for their con game are back.
“If there’s a phone call involved and money mentioned, it’s a scam,” the sheriff said. “We never contact you over the phone for money.”
Ravenell said Lt. Harter and Lt. McDuffie are genuine names used in the recent scam call but the real officers made no calls.
In one call, a badge number of 4471 was given to the potential victim.
“Can you guess how many 4471s we have?” Ravenell said. “Yep. None.”
The scammers claim you have an outstanding warrant issued for failing to appear in court or missing jury duty.
One scammer demanded $9,500 in return for making the warrant go away.
If anyone receives such a call, they are urged to simply hang up and call the Orangeburg County Communications Center at 803-534-3550.
