We typically meet in the garden every Wednesday morning 8:00-10:00 AM.

Tomorrow Wednesday September 2 is our regular work day at the Field of Plenty starting at 7:30. Depending on the storm that is on its way, we might not be able to work. I will send another email in the morning to let you know for sure. Hopefully it will only be the much needed rain we get.
I picked a lot of okra over the weekend that I turned in yesterday, but there is a lot more that will be ready to pick tomorrow.

Tomorrow August 19 is our regular work day at the Field of Plenty starting at 7:30. The weather forecast for today is partly cloudy with a low of 78 and a high of 94.
We need to get the gutters ready to plant lettuce. They are so full of purslane that it is probably best to take everything out and put in new dirt and Black Kow.
There may be okra and peppers to harvest.

Tomorrow Wednesday August 12 is our regular work day at the Field of Plenty starting at 7:30. The weather forecast shows sunny skies with a low of 78 and a high of 92.
We are trying to get our fall veggies planted during the month of August. I have one bed ready to plant and hopefully will have a second bed ready by tomorrow. I have all the seeds needed and we will work on getting beds ready to plant. We will still let the okra keep growing and try to plant around them.
We also have okra, eggplant and peppers to pick. Hopefully the rain helped get the current veggies growing.

Tomorrow Wednesday August 5 is our regular work day at the Field of Plenty starting at 7:30. The weather forecast shows 35% chance of rain and a low of 78 and a high of 92.
I think because of the lack of rain the eggplants and peppers are staying small. The okra plant has produced a few okras but not as much as it should be producing.
Most of the Mexican sunflowers are dead and need to be pulled out. The squash is still growing with baby squash showing.

Tomorrow Wednesday July 22 is our regular work day at the Field of Plenty starting at 7:30. The weather forecast shows a 40% chance of rain and a low of 79 and a high of 98.
We are going to get our work done quickly and out of the heart.
Cucumbers are dead looking but it still produces a few cucumbers.
There are peppers and eggplant to pick.

Tomorrow Wednesday July 15 is our regular work day at the Field of Plenty starting at 7:30 or 8:00. The weather forecast shows a low of 75 and a high of 87 with a 55% chance of rain.
Cucumbers have slowed down. There are eggplants, peppers and maybe okra to pick. We need to plant more yard long beans along the fence.
There may be a break in the rain long enough for us to pick the veggies.

Tomorrow, Wednesday July 8 is our regular work day at the Field of Plenty starting at 7:30 or 8:00. The weather forecast shows cloudy with a 35% chance of rain and a low of 77 and a high of 93.
The recently planted okra is coming up and the earlier planted okra is soon going to be producing okra.
Our cucumber is full of dead leaves but it is still producing cucumbers.
I want to buy some bagged mulch to put on the beds after we w**d. Hopefully it would cut down on w**ds in the bed. We don't have enough leaves left to do all the beds.

Tomorrow Wednesday July 1 is the regular work day at the Field of Plenty starting at 7:30 or 8:00. The weather forecast has 45% chance of rain and a low of 77 and a high of 92.
I picked 10 cucumbers over the weekend but I am sure there are more. Eggplants are ready to pick.
I bought longhorn okra seeds at Green Thumb nursery in Vidor and they came up in 2 days. The seeds I bought at farmer's Merc never came up.
Our tomatoes are eaten up with stink bugs and even picking them early and letting them ripen on the window still hasn't worked. The stink bugs hit them so many times when they were green that even though they turn red, when cut open they are rotten inside.
There are a lot of peppers to pick.

Tomorrow Wednesday June 24 is our regular work day at the Field of Plenty starting at 7:30 or 8:00. The weather forecast shows partly cloudy with a low of 76 and a high of 93.
I am teaching a sewing class this week and can't be at FOP on Wednesday. Eddie will have the jobs list.
There are still cucumbers to pick and a lot of peppers that are ready.
There are always w**ds to pull.

Tomorrow June 17 is our regular work day at the Field of Plenty starting at 8:00. The weather forecast has a 85% chance of rain and a low of 75 and a high of 84. Hopefully the rain will start after 10:00.
The cucumbers have slowed down a bit. The okra is coming up, but the w**ds are terrible.
If we get to work tomorrow we will be doing a lot of w**ding. The rain is great for the plants we want but the w**ds love it too.
