Document Specialist – DMD Department (located in San Diego, CA)
We have a full-time opportunity in our DMD Department at Corporate (located in San Diego, CA) for a Document Specialist.
Purpose of Position:
To review critical documents received post closing for compliance with all state and investor regulations as well as Guild Mortgage Company guidelines.
Essential Requirements/Duties of this Position include the Ability to:
• Request and prepare loan files for scanning and/or copying.
• Review and receive all incoming final documents.
• Perform data input without errors for each loan document reviewed.
• Identify errors in critical loan documents and perform miscellaneous correction procedures.
• Originate new memos/letters as well as produce system generated memos/letters to title companies, and recorder’s office in order to coordinate the correction process.
• Ensure timely receipt of post closing documents by utilizing departmental automated reports and with regular communication with Branches, Lenders, and title companies.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all loan programs and loan documents utilized by guild.
• Review, analyze, report and take action where needed on Investor’s reports of outstanding documents.
• Communicate with branches, title companies, recorder’s offices, attorneys and other Guild department teams.
• Suggest changes to departmental procedures and system applications to the Document Control Supervisor.
• Conduct research on investor and state specific guidelines as requested.
• Other related duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage time and workflow efficiently. Computer skills are required, including proficiency with internet searches, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
