September 11 reminds us that courage is not the absence of fear. It is the decision to serve when fear is everywhere—to run toward a neighbor in need, to stand together and to help rebuild.

In Scouting, we promise “to help other people at all times.” Today, we remember those who lived that promise in its fullest meaning: the lives lost, the families forever changed and the first responders whose courage showed a nation what service looks like.

We remember. We honor. We serve.

Some lessons make even more sense when you can step outside and experience them.

In just a couple of months, we’ll welcome our Outdoor Science School campers for hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, and shared experiences with their classmates.

Our program gives young people opportunities to connect classroom concepts with the natural world, practice teamwork, build confidence, and discover what they’re capable of—all while learning beyond the walls of a traditional classroom.

We’re counting down the days and can’t wait to welcome this season’s campers. Follow our page for a look at the adventures ahead!
