We are a month a way and we are working hard to get ready for the 50th Annual Somerset Steam and Gas Engine Association Pasture Party.

We have tons of fun lined up for this year. Let's name a few:

The Somerset Parade-> Come see all the equipment on display and hear some great information and history on each.

We can't wait to meet our incoming freshmen tonight from 5:00–7:00 PM and all of our students at Open House tomorrow from 1:00–6:00 PM!

Be sure to stop by the FFA table in the Sports Center tonight to learn about our chapter, and discover why FFA is more than just an organization.

Today marks an exciting milestone for the future of career and technical education! We were proud to have our FFA President, Skylar Carpenter, represent our Agricultural Education program at the OCHS CTE Building Groundbreaking Ceremony.

This new facility represents incredible opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and prepare for successful careers in agriculture and beyond. We're grateful to be part of this exciting chapter and can't wait to see the impact this investment will have on future generations.

The future is bright, and we're excited for what's ahead!

What an unforgettable experience at the 100th Virginia State FFA Convention!

Our chapter proudly brought home several outstanding achievements, including:
🔵 100% Membership
🟡 Public Relations Award – Silver Rating
🔵 Superior Chapter Award
🟡 National Chapter Award – Silver Rating

🏆Congratulations to Carly Gallahan for earning 1st Place High Individual in Livestock Judging. An outstanding accomplishment!

Congratulations to Kaid Altman for placing 7th Individual in Livestock Judging!

Congratulations to Ella Freeman for placing 9th individual in Food Science!

During the week, our members:
🟡 served on the Courtesy Corps, assisting with various tasks throughout convention and earned pins for their service

🔵 participated in a workshop led by a past New Hampshire State FFA President, gaining valuable leadership skills and inspiration to make a difference in their communities

🟡 connected with industry professionals at the Career Expo, exploring future career pathways and opportunities

🔵 completed the Turf Grass Tour at their research center and Lane Stadium, learning about the turf grass industry and it’s vast opportunities

🟡 visited the FFA Historical Room and sat at the very oak table where the Future Farmers of Virginia (FFV), the organization that would become FFA, was founded

On April 23, we celebrated a year of growth, leadership, achievement, and service within our chapter. From competitions to community involvement and unforgettable memories in the blue and gold jacket, this year has been one to remember.

Congratulations to all of our award recipients! Your hard work, dedication, and leadership continue to make our chapter proud.
