Youth ages 13 -18, join us for a mindfulness picnic at Branchbrook Park! A summer workshop focusing on health and wellness. 🧘‍♂️

The mindfulness picnic will consist of outdoor games and activities, as well as a guided meditation exercise. Lunch will be provided to all participants along with educational materials and any supplies needed.

Smoking has many alarming effects on the body. However, some can be overlooked. Just like its effect on the skin.

Smoking causes premature wrinkling and gives your skin a grey, aged appearance. It also makes your skin sag more than it would otherwise, and it can give your face a gaunt look, with a “hollow” appearance to the cheeks being particularly noticeable in lower-weight smokers

About 36% of LGBT people who smoke report smoking menthol ci******es compared to 29% of heterosexual or straight people who smoke.

Smoking prevalence among LGBTQ people may be higher than among non-LGBTQ people for many reasons. One reason is aggressive marketing by to***co companies that sponsor events, bar promotions, giveaways, and advertisements.

Big To***co purposely targets the LGBTQ+ population!

Studies show that LGB female youth ages 14 to 17 are more that 3 times as likely to use ci******es as straight females in the past month.

Why? Here’s one reason:
To***co companies often display LGBTQ+ personalities in marketing/commercials using to***co products, therefore normalizing its use within the LGBTQ+ community.

Everyone deserves to breathe easy. Did you know that even if you don’t smoke but live or work with someone who does, you are still directly affected by second hand and third hand smoke.

🚨Have you been collecting your cigarette butts? The challenge is NOT over! 🚨

We encourage everyone to join the online challenge by going to your local park or your neighborhood and fill up as many plastic bottles as you can.

Then, take a picture of your findings and post it on Instagram adding the following hashtags:


(all hashtags must be added to your photo to count as an entry)

Remember to stay safe by washing your hands and wearing gloves while participating in this challenge!

Don't forget to tag us .essex so we can see your entry! The person with the most bottles filled with cigarette butts, win a $50 Amazon e-gift card!

Here are some highlights of the park clean up in Irvington Park on Saturday, May 21. The youth of Incorruptible.essex went around the park to collect trash and cigarette butts to kickoff an online challenge . We were able to educate parents and youth on the dangers and effects of to***co to our health and our planet.

The last two pictures show our youth leaders with their collection of cigarette butts/cigarillo tips. They even found a disposable e-cigarette! How much can you collect?
