Teamsters Local 952 is warning that stalled contract negotiations with the County of Orange could lead to a labor dispute involving workers responsible for critical county infrastructure and public services.

The impacted employees maintain and operate services that Orange County residents rely on daily, including county landfills, public works operations, vehicle and fleet maintenance, parks, flood control systems, and animal care services. Teamsters representatives are calling attention to the lack of progress at the bargaining table as the June 25, 2026 contract expiration date approaches.

Reminder to all Teamsters Local 952 members:

Next month’s General Membership Meeting has been moved to the last Saturday of the month due to the IBT National Convention.

Our meetings are normally held on the third Saturday, so please help spread the word to your fellow brothers and sisters so nobody misses out.

It should be an exciting meeting before we kick off the summer months. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

We are pleased to announce that your employer, GKN Aerospace, has notified Teamsters Local 952 that they will be paying the members this week, although they are not able to return to work.

This week, Business Agent Sam Carlin joined fellow OC Public Works Teamsters and stewards at the Orange County Board of Supervisors meeting to speak on the ongoing contract negotiations with the County of Orange.

Our Operations and Service Maintenance Unit members keep Orange County running every day through OC Public Works, OC Waste & Recycling, OC Community Resources, OC Parks and OC Animal Care. From maintaining county vehicles, sheriff fleets, helicopters and boats to operating our landfills, maintaining highways and water channels, these Teamsters perform critical public services for our communities.

With the current agreement set to expire June 25, 2026, Teamsters Local 952 remains committed to reaching a fair agreement that respects the essential work our members perform every day for the residents of Orange County.

Huge thank you to our members for standing up and speaking on behalf of our fellow brothers and sisters in the public sector.
