🎣🇺🇸 More Than a Fishing Trip. A Mission of Hope.

This weekend, Operation Barnabas Inc.SPEARiT Veteran Spearfishing Project, and Hooks of Hope are bringing together over a dozen veterans for a fishing retreat focused on brotherhood, healing, and hope.

We've seen God use weekends like this to change lives—turning isolation into community, burdens into encouragement, and struggles into renewed purpose. Time and again, veterans have found healing through authentic connection, faith, and the support of those who understand their journey.

As these warriors gather this weekend, would you join us in praying?

🙏 For meaningful conversations
🙏 For lasting friendships
🙏 For healing and renewed hope
🙏 For lives transformed by God's love

The fish are a bonus.

The real catch is hope.

Thank you! We love our amazing champions!

"I'm just tired."

This message came from a real veteran.

Every day, veterans face battles most people never see. Many struggle with isolation, homelessness, and hopelessness. Tragically, far too many lose that fight.

At Operation Barnabas, we're committed to making sure no veteran stands alone.

Watch this powerful story and remember: sometimes a single phone call, a listening ear, or a simple act of compassion can change — and even save — a life.

🇺🇸 Please watch, share, and help us reach the next veteran who needs hope.

Some days, God pulls back the curtain just enough for us to witness something extraordinary.

Yesterday was one of those days.

Every year, a Barnabas family member makes a donation to Dreams Come True of Jacksonville, Inc. Dreams Come True on behalf of Operation Barnabas. Their mission is beautiful—they give children battling life-threatening illnesses and their families the chance to experience a dream come true. For one precious week, doctor appointments, treatments, and frightening diagnoses fade into the background as families are treated like royalty and children get to simply be kids again.

Yesterday was the dream reveal for 12-year-old Emerie, a brave young girl fighting a devastating heart disease. Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, she learned that her dream is coming true: a trip to New York City to see *Wicked* on Broadway. There were songs, smiles, laughter, and happy tears everywhere.

What Emerie didn't know was that another life-changing moment was about to happen.

The event was being held almost exactly halfway between Jacksonville and Orlando, so we logistically decided to deliver our 46th vehicle from Mercy Auto Charitable Foundation Inc. Simply Drive to one of our Orlando veterans, Thomas, who is fighting to rebuild his life. While Emerie's celebration was winding down, James arrived with Thomas.

Standing there in the parking lot, a thought occured.

We walked inside to Emerie and asked if she would help us with something special.

We told her there was a Marine outside—a man who had fought for our country and was now fighting a different battle to get his life back on track. We told her that she was a fighter too, and that the gift would mean more coming from her than from any of us.

She smiled and said yes.

Moments later, this tiny warrior walked up to a United States Marine, looked him in the eyes, and handed him the keys to his vehicle and his new life.

And just like that, there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd.

A young girl battling a scary sickness.
A Marine battling for his future.

Two completely different journeys.
One God.
One unforgettable moment.

For a few minutes, God's presence felt undeniable as two fighters from completely different worlds encouraged one another in a way only He could orchestrate.

What happened yesterday wasn't planned. It wasn't scripted. The Lord reminded us that we are not alone.

Please join us in praying for Emerie and Thomas. Their battles may look different, but they have the same God—a God who sees them, loves them, and cares for them more than we can ever imagine.

Today was one of the most special moments in Operation Barnabas history.

And we'll never forget it.

P.S. Also shout out to the Kids Helping Kids students of Lake Asbury Junior High School and their teacher Mr. Wood for raising the support needed to make this dream come true.

"The Lord spoke to me... He was like, 'I created you to make a difference in this world. I didn't create you to just survive. I created you to bring life to other people.'"

For many veterans, the journey after military service can be filled with battles that no one else sees—PTSD, TBI, isolation, loss of purpose, and the struggle to reconnect.

But sometimes God takes our deepest wounds and turns them into our greatest mission.

In this powerful testimony, one veteran shares how he discovered a new purpose: helping others heal.

"That's what we do. We allow a lot of people to be very vulnerable in what we do, and I think vulnerability is the key. It breaks the ice, and people then come out of their shell."

At Operation Barnabas, we see this every day. When veterans find a safe place to share their stories, walls come down, burdens become lighter, and lives begin to change.

"There's just so many people suffering from PTSD, CTI, TBI... and hey, it's my mission now. I found my purpose in life."

That is what restoring valor looks like.

Not just surviving.
Not just getting by.
But finding purpose, building community, and bringing life to others.

Please take a few moments to watch this testimony and be reminded that no veteran should have to fight alone.

What does it mean to truly live for Christ?

Romans 12:1-2 calls believers to offer themselves as a living sacrifice and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. Remarkably, modern neuroscience is increasingly confirming what Scripture has taught for centuries: our minds can be renewed and reshaped.

In this video, Dr. Ben Carson and Iraqi war veteran Dr. Lee Warren discuss the fascinating connection between faith, thought patterns, and neuroplasticity—the brain's ability to form new neural pathways. Their insights highlight how intentional thinking, spiritual disciplines, and a Christ-centered life can literally help rewire the brain. What science calls neuroplasticity, Romans 12:2 describes as the renewal of the mind.

When we consistently focus on God's truth rather than the world's patterns, transformation occurs from the inside out. As our thinking changes, our actions, attitudes, and lives follow. This is not merely behavior modification; it is genuine transformation through God's power working in us.

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind..." — Romans 12:2

Faith and neuroscience together point to an encouraging reality: change is possible. God designed our minds with the capacity for renewal, growth, and transformation.

Can you really “rewire” your brain? And what does modern neuroscience say about what the Bible has taught for thousands of years? In this compelling convers...

Honor. Accountability. Restoration. Mission.

Today we celebrate the completion of another Operation Barnabas veterans class inside the Duval County Montgomery Correctional Center. These men once wore the uniform of our nation, and through partnership, mentorship, and faith, we are committed to helping them restore the valor, purpose, and brotherhood many have lost along the way.

We are grateful for the partnership and commitment of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and the Montgomery Correctional team for believing that restoration is possible and that no veteran should be forgotten.

Special thanks to our incredible instructors, Coop and Julius, for faithfully showing up, pouring into these veterans, and demonstrating leadership, accountability, and the love of Jesus Christ week after week.

The mission continues.
