Many of you ask what CCSAAC does. There are many answers to this.
This organization began 20 years ago, in 2001, as a group of healthcare workers who wanted to give back. We are a 501c3, non profit. Everyone who is a member, is a volunteer for the advocacy, but who works in the healthcare industry, this includes our officers and board members.
•We hold monthly meetings with guest speakers for our members to gain knowledge of different areas in the healthcare community. Want to know when? We meet the 2nd Thursday of every month. 8:30 a.m. networking, meeting begins at 9 a.m. We always meet at Discovery Village Fleming Island, formerly known as Allegro of Fleming Island.
•We host the annual Ms. Clay County Senior Pageant at the Hilltop each June. Winners of facilities individual pageants compete at this event. With the help of Clay County celebrity judges, we crown a Ms. Assisted Living, Ms. Long Term Care, and a Lifetime Achievement.
•We sponsor Christmas parties/residents wish lists at lower Income senior communities each December. This was new to us as of December 2025, but something we are looking to continue each year.
•We hold a fundraising BBQ every October. This currently is our sole fundraiser that raises money and helps us pay for the senior pageant, Christmas parties, as well as any seniors in need (detailed below).
•We do have an annual fee of $25 to be a member of our group. There is NO FEE if you are a non profit. Our Treasurer can collect this money.
•We accept nominations for seniors in need of repairs to homes and/or other forms of assistance. We have paid for wheelchair ramps to be built at homes, concrete work to even out sidewalks leading to a seniors home, installing shower bars in bathrooms, helped with AC needs, and the list goes on (we can have a discussion If there Is a need not listed here).
•There Is criteria to be met when requesting assistance:
•Individual must be 65+ years old
•Individual must live in Clay County
•We must receive the completed nomination form (pinned on this page)
•Person submitting nomination form must provide us with quotes/pricing for the requested work/services. This enables officers to give the nomination and quotes to our board members for approval.
•The CCSAAC pays the organization providing the service directly.
•We have a one time, $1500.00 cap on assistance.
