We need to educate and support ourselves and others living with Epilepsy. No one seems to talk about it. People don't realize that Epilepsy is the 3rd most prevalent neurological condition in the U.S. If you live in OC, California or if you just want to help support others on here please join us ~ we'd love to get to know you and discuss experiences, treatment or just say hello :)

Distinguishing between status epilepticus and seizure mimics remains a common clinical challenge, often leading to unnecessary escalation of treatment. Whenever possible, recording events and involving specialized professionals, such as neurologists or epileptologists, can improve diagnostic accuracy, while lack of response to standard therapies should prompt consideration of psychogenic non-epileptic seizures.
