This year marks the launch of the OCAPS Scholarship Program, created to support local Armenian students as they build their academic and professional paths. These three recipients stood out for their drive, focus, and commitment to what they’re working toward.

Meet OCAPS member Alina Hiatt — a seasoned tax professional and Senior Manager on the State and Local Tax team at Grant Thornton, where she has spent the past nine years. With over a decade of experience in public accounting, Alina brings expertise and dedication to her work every day.

A graduate of UC Irvine, Alina earned her degree in Political Science and Economics before embarking on her career in accounting. Her deep ties to OCAPS span more than 10 years, during which she has contributed as both a member and Executive Committee participant.

What Alina values most about OCAPS is the opportunity to connect with fellow Armenians right here in Orange County. “It’s nice to collaborate and get to know others who share a cultural commonality, without having to travel out of our hometown,” she shares.

Meet OCAPS member Gregory Grigorian (.greg) — an attorney and founder of Grigorian Law, P.C., a firm specializing in both personal injury and employment law. Greg launched his practice in 2023 with a mission to advocate for individuals facing some of life’s most challenging circumstances.

Greg grew up in Pasadena and is a proud graduate of AGBU Pasadena. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy from UCLA and went on to receive his J.D. from Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law. His journey in law is driven by a commitment to justice and community service.

In addition to his professional work, Greg currently serves as Vice President on our OCAPS Executive Committee, where he helps lead efforts to strengthen and grow our network of Armenian professionals. What Greg appreciates most about being part of OCAPS is the opportunity to build meaningful Armenian connections right here in Orange County. “Many of my closest friends today are from my high school years,” he shares. “I love that OCAPS fosters that same sense of Armenian community and belonging.”

Meet OCAPS member Kristy Khachigian — an expert in both public affairs and Armenian cuisine! In 2022, Kristy launched Tsakas Food, an Armenian eats pop-up with lahmajun as the star dish. Be sure to check it out on for a taste of something special.

In her day job, Kristy is a public affairs and government relations consultant with a background that includes working on Capitol Hill and in DC-based government relations before returning home in 2013 to start her consulting business. She is a proud parent of two UC Berkeley students.

What’s especially rewarding for Kristy about being a part of OCAPS is the chance to connect with a diverse community of Armenian professionals across a wide range of ages and backgrounds. She also enjoys collaborating with the Executive Committee to help grow our membership and foster meaningful connections. Make sure to say hi to Kristy at our next event!
