Please like and share our page with anyone you know with special needs family members. Our goal is to help families with special needs children learn how to make the most of their recreation and vacation time. Autism Offroad is not just off highway vehicles but off the beaten path for what most families with special needs members tread. We want to open up new adventures and show everyone that mainstream recreation is attainable. Off road, water sports, fishing, boating, surfing, camping, hiking and exploring are just the beginning. We also visit museums, amusement parks, water parks, zoos, monster truck rallies, races and you name it. We are happy to assist a family one on one or help them integrate into group events.
Come back often and share our photos and stories. We look forward to meeting our followers and leading you into new adventures.

Calico is less than three weeks away! Come out for the day to Calico Ghost Town and have some fun with us. We'll take you for an off road tour to see some beautiful California desert, real silver mines from the 1800's, we'll even show you around the Ghost town and "Boot Hill" if you like. Kids of all ages have a great time while learning a little California history. Let me know if you'd like to go and I'll get you all the information you need.

A 14-year-old blind singer with autism who delivered the national anthem at Fenway Park before the Cleveland Indians-Boston Red Sox game received a loud and long ovation from the players and fans.

The Big Event at Calico is set for Nov. 5 - 8, 2015. ALL the camp sights at the "Offroad" campground have been updated with electricity, water and sewer connections AND all the spaces are larger now! If you don't camp, Calico is close enough for a day trip. Only 2 hours from South Orange County. There are also hotels nearby that are very reasonable and nicely appointed. Several RV rental companies in the area have great rates for this time of year, also. The weather is generally very nice at this time of year, too. Would love to see some new faces joining us this year. If you are interested and think you would like to try it out, message me with any questions or concerns.
It's truly incredible what this event has become. I made the first exploratory trip in January of '09 and our first trip as a group to Calico Ghost Town was in early 2009 with about 17 people. Glenn Bothwell and I immediately recognized the opportunaty for a great yearly event. I think we went three more times in 2009! We have such a great time and make new friends with every trip. The staff at Calico Ghost Town are the BEST. They treat us like old friends. We are always looking forward to going back but always looking forward to welcoming new friends to our adventures. See you there?

Going to meet some families at Cougar Buttes in Lucerne Valley. Springtime in the desert with friends and family, doesn't get much better than that. Cougar Buttes is one of our favorite "dry" camping areas. The Lazy Lizard Ranch is only a few miles away and allows those that don't camp to spend their days with us and have a nice room with "real" beds and showers. The weather should be perfect and the riding is suitable for every skill level. Pictures to come.

Thanks Darin Frye, this is SO spot on. Prepare to laugh and cry.

You know how much you love all your children and the special love you have for your autistic child. He cannot tell you why he is throwing a tantrum or why he is upset. Here are some of the things your autistic child might want to tell you, if only he had the words. Kids are so different. Your child…

They say you can't win if you don't enter the race.
I'm here to tell you, if you don't get in the race, you can't finish,
you're not even a participant, you're a spectator. Don't watch life pass you by.
