The Volusia Community Arts is a volunteer orchestra serving Volusia County, FL. Our genre ranges from light classical, Broadway, to movie soundtracks. We also have a Jazz Ensemble which was just established fall of 2022.

When you take your seat for a VCA show, you’re not just sitting down to watch a concert.

You’re getting lost in a whole other world. You phone is on silent (or all the way off if you’re a real rock star), and no one can pester you for the next hour or two. The lights go down, the stage floods with color, and when the music begins, you’re completely relaxed and engulfed in the experience.

No notification pings.
No to-do list nagging you in the back of your mind.
Nowhere else to be but fully present.

Sounds like the break everyone’s been craving these days, doesn’t it?

What’s a wind ensemble?

Easy: it’s a gaggle of some of the coolest people you’ll ever meet, collectively trying to figure out who can hold (sort of) their breath for the longest and the prettiest. Duh 😉

More technically, it’s a small group of woodwind instruments (like flutes and clarinets) and brass instruments (like trumpets and trombones) who make music together. You should come hear one sometime… I’m told it’s a great experience (hint hint, nudge nudge… 🎶)
